Unfortunately, I believe, your "benefits" and your perspective represent a _very_small portion of American employers. Moreover, I believe the dog whistle that you are tooting is essentially, "get back to work and everything will eventually get better."

Even in today's incredibly tight labor market I believe the majority of employers are unprepared or more likely incapable of extending anything more after hiring than, "do your job, for the wages we pay, or we will replace you."

When business is driven by the egregious pursuit of 'Profits' then labor (very real flesh and blood women and men) are seen only as a spreadsheet commodity.

So, get back to work. It is your responsibility to bring your own reasons for liking the "burnout and hustle culture".

Re:

Aside from the 'Microsoft will discontinue supporting XP' concern I have difficulty recognizing a clear benefit from upgrading. (I will acknowledge the "Eye-candy" value of W7 which has always been a driving force in the PC world.)

Re: About this Hunch thing

I had a hunch you might see it that way... and I am not surprised. You 'assume' that there are Windows programs that I might need. Having spent enough time with Linux (I am still a M$ Administrator so I know the difference) I can say that M$ is a slimy PC based virus that its users don't even recognize... Winders is a 'program' unto itself that must be run in a controlled sandbox so it doesn't pollute legitimate computing environments. I contain Winders in VMWare ... at least there it doesn't corrupt the rest of my computer. I find the assertion that I 'might need' some Winders programs ... contemptible. You, having consumed the Redmond Kool-Aid... might need a Winders program... sorry for your ill fortune.

Re: It was a tired joke then - It’s a tired joke now

Or you could just load Linux and you wouldn't have the problem in the first place.

Re: Who’s the stupid one here

Yo Cranky!
