Usually we think of different kinds of archetypes, not about book shapes and related stuff. It's curious, to me.

I agree: there are different degrees of involvement in social media. In SL we create and interact directly and this leads to the sense of intimacy you (and we all) experienced.
But is all this, in its different aspects, a bit too much? What if we decide to exclude all the chitchat (even useful, interesting, involving) for a while to focus more on ourselves? How is this perceived by social media contacts and by the person who decides to hide him/herself for a bit? Thought-provoking, to me.
