Am I the only one that comparing potential explosive acceleration to potential mechanical velocity is a bit of a dishonest way to be handing out records to these lifeforms? That's kind of like saying a clown that gets shot out of a cannon is faster than an Olympic runner.

Re: Are Our Bacteria Making Us Fat?

Or potentially an effective solution.

Re: 23 January 2014

It's a series of tubes

Re: Under the God 34

"Normal" he says...

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - The Black Queen

The Black Queen could potentially be made into a massive defensive wall that can still pick a card off every turn.

Re: Prepare to Die: The Webcomic - Currently under the control of Chaos

Heh, subscriptions actually. Godmodding stems from 'God Mode' like in video games, basically breaking the rules of the game to make it easier. Metagaming refers to using information outside of what your character should know to make choices, like not being surprised when you find out about something that happened while your character was supposedly not in the room, or when your kitty-loving barbarian doesn't want to pet the magical kitty when he has no way to knowing that it's magical.

Re: Clipart FAIL: Pumpkins

"Mr. Vorhees is looking a little green this year... Now what if we were talking about a more powerful card that your opponent just spent a good amount of resources to finally force from the field for you to not really lose it, that I'd also think is worth a Bandwidth. Keep in mind it doesn't draw from the top, you can go through your discard pile and get any machine and you don't have to play it immediately. It also isn't limited to a certain kind of card, so you can use it to snag anything.

Re: Clipart FAIL: Back to School

No sir you are NOT the "Gene Simmons of Education", now stop stage diving onto your students!

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Adrastus

Is it ridiculously expensive to play? Yes. Is it ridiculously over powered?? Oh yes. Alas the comments don't get all that much attention... but oh yes there are many twists and puns still to come. I'm also sorry the updating has been a bit... sparse as of late, but hopefully we'll be able to get back on track once convention season is over and I don't have a thousand projects to work on at once.

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Incompetent Minion Force

Alternatively I've also considered making this card a +1 OFF/-1 DEF exchange per Character unless used on Alice.

The good point: it's self-limiting as you can only have 5 characters in play at once, so it's a maximum +4 boost... and they're all weak cards, so knocking out that bonus Power shouldn't be too tough.

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Martin the Warrior

I personally would save Martin until there was a few cards in effect to buff him up first so he wouldn't be as vulnerable... the only reason to play him "as is" would be if you have absolutely nothing else to play.

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Silent Pirate

We'll have to see about that, since we still have a number of more powerful Characters to come, including the Boosted Character for this deck. While we're still going to be looking into tweaks on many cards, this one really IS supposed to be the wuss both in game and in his own comic.. I kinda feel he's useful for his ability and then is meant to be cast aside as fodder.

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Nettika

No actually, you only get counters when your cards are removed by your opponent... but what does this say about equipment? If you have a Character that's equipped with a Plot Device and it's destroyed, do you get 2 Bandwidth for that kill??

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Lemon & Lime

While the 'Sock Tail' does indeed count as being equipped to a character, it isn't a Plot Device onto itself and wouldn't be set aside, so no. You can also only equip a Plot Device to your own characters, so putting 'The Key' onto an opponent's card wouldn't work either...

It's a distinction that may need to be explained further in detail somewhere, but the 'Sock Tail' can almost be described as a status ailment much like any other nerf you might apply to an opponent's card. It just also acts as if it were an equipable Plot Device.

Re: Fan Expo for TGT Cancelled

It's always a challenge to find ways to fund this kind of content, no matter how good it is. What are the alternatives? If you have a large enough audience you can get sponsors and play commercials... if you have a good enough gimmick you can sell logotized products. If you have enough exclusive content you can sell "premium member" accounts to get bonus material. But all of these things deal with sheer volume.

I've always felt that community has always been key, not just having visitors but having active participation. This comes down to things like contests, polls, or events that get people involved on a personal level that makes them feel like a part of the process. Have something happen that makes people look forward to the next installment to find out what happened last time. If this kind of thing can become a regular thing, making people become active participants instead of passive observers... avalanches start with a single pebble, eh?

Re: Gryphon flying over Kasper’s Castle

The Gryphon should be named... While very flux in nature, Martin could end up being a lot of fun to play with against the right opponent.

Immediate possible flaw: if you end up playing a group session (more than two players at once... and yes you CAN play like that I've tried :D) Martin could become an absolute MONSTER as he absorbs everyone's buffs. We can only hope that all the debuffs being played will balance him out well enough to keep him in check.

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Secret Agent

Hrmm... what would happen if we give 'Secret Agent' a Bandwidth cost, but then make whatever card it is effecting cost nothing to play? It could not only make a more powerful card cheaper to play, but hide the strength of the hidden card as you'd have had to pay for it whether it was face-down or not. Also while it might cost you a few Bandwidth, but to be able to bluff a wuss card into the face-down position so your opponent might be hesitant to attack it... that could be fun!

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Zorphert

During your Action Phase I'd imagine...

Re: WAGON Webcomic Battle - Sarah Bryant

To attack or to switch her between Offensive and Defensive. True though it's not exceptionally useful... she could be given a secondary ability as well, or something else could be thought of. Perhaps she could also get something akin to Chooken's attack-as-played ability, that might give her a bit more punch.
