Hopefully by years end the UIGEA will be lifted. The government is losing out on millions every year because they want to "police" the world.

Re: It’s the Hippocratic Oath Bill, not hypocritic

Great Post. The US legislation needs to come to the realization that there are millions if not billions of tax dollars to be made by allowing online gambling to US citizens. I think Obama is finally beginning to see this and therefore is trying to get the UIGEA lifted. I cant believe the millions that have been lost to the closed minded government already. Our government needs money, this poses a legitimate way to obtain some of that money.

Re: Facebook Coming Under FBI Scrutiny For Online Gambling

Man, this is just ridiculous. There are 20,000 pools on Facebook; are they just gonna go door to door and ask everyone if they placed a wager on their specific pool? And if they did, do you think anyone would be dumb enough to say they did. Also Facebook doesn't get any revenue share from these "pools" they simple allow a group of friends pick the outcome of the game. The friends pay cash to each other, there are no transactions done on Facebook. End of Story.

Re: Net gambling & online speech / commerce enforcement challenges in general

Obama has already noticed the amount of revenue that can be gained through allowing online gaming. Which is why he is in the works of lifitng the UIEGA, which makes international gambling illegal.

Re: Sucker’s bet?

Wow, sounds like they should just get the slots up and running. At least for the mean time. We all saw the struggles of high gas prices effect our economy.
