Sometimes it is difficult to cut through the clutter and rhetoric. This often means people give up before the truth emerges and are then trapped in a financial straight jacket.

Re: Do the Accounts of a Business Really Show What’s Going On?

Hi Ben,
I think you could show this to your clients because my point is that IF the books were filled out correctly they would show exactly how a business is running. However, with so many business owners choosing to do the books themselves or have them done by a substandard book keeper, we're left with the situation where the books often can't be relied on for more than the most basic compliance information.

Re: How George Set Himself Free of Money Worries…

If we follow correct principles there is no doubt we will come out of it. However, as long as speculation is the primary wealth driver for people we will inevitably get some booms and busts along the way

Re: Why Some of the Rhetoric of Property Investment Gurus Doesn’t Quite Make Sense

Thanks for your comments Adrian.

I agree with you.. It's the mindset that makes the difference when it comes to investment in real estate. Some people have thought it is simply a matter of buying a property, sitting on it for a few years and then selling it. For me that is more speculation than investment.

Once you are looking cash flow rather than capital gain as the chief determinant in investing I believe you're using a business mindset.
Looking forward to catching up with you soon.

Re: Are You Making These ”Money Burning” Financial Mistakes?

Thanks Jack.
Feel free to share the George videos with ALL those Georges and bring them into a conversation which may change their lives for ever

Re: Why Some of the Rhetoric of Property Investment Gurus Doesn’t Quite Make Sense

Thanks for taking the time to give us your comments Doug. There are quite a number of people who hold your view which is why this whole topic needs discussion and debate. I plan to take up your comments more fully in a further blog post

Re: Humour on the financial crisis

Hi John,
Thanks for the correction.

Re: Do you really know where your profits are coming from?

Hi John,
Thanks for your comments. I agree that many SME's have a very low level of financial acumen and as a result fail to appreciate how their business is really travelling. Without relaising it, their behaviour has the effect you are talking about

Re: A House Disconnected Cannot Stand

I completely agree with you.
Having come out of the corporate environment it is no surprise to me that financiers can become completely disconnected with the real businesses they're investing in.
Makes me laugh when the stockmarket goes down because it only increases the return on investment because companies never pay out their didivdends based on their share price. It's always a function of the profit they've made which never moves around like the share price.
I'm all for less manipulation in the finance area, creating so called profits from revaluation and thinking it is a real return.

Re: Do you really know where your profits are coming from?

Thanks for your encouragement Peter
