And it confuses me how you can get a Best Picture nod without acknowledging any of the things that made it best picture - acting, directing, cinematography, costume... It's like saying Best Cake Ever without congratulating the eggs & milk... SMH.

I can only assume that the "writer" (yes, with the quotes) has neither read nor researched the vast array of romantic fiction available. If he had but bothered to ask any of the readers or writers of this genre, he would know just how short-sighted and under-informed this "opinion" piece really is.

Still, I would suggest that if we must write "opinion" pieces, could we base our suppositions in facts instead of 1952 ideologies?
