Man, I hate that for you! You just gotta hate when things like that happens. I can empathize with your situation myself for I live above Atmore, Al. Not all that far from Pensacola. Being a fan this far away has it's disadvantages.

If that is our starters come the 1st game of the season, I'll be happy with that. With those weapons, if McCown can get a streak going of completions again like he did in other games it will open up wholes for the running game and should possibly keep Dallas's defense on their toes. If the Bucs Defense can blitz Romo all day (the wAy that Bates likes to do) Then the Bucs could start the season with a win.

I believe that if Luke McCown is given quality time and reps with the 1st string offense so that he and the receivers can get timing down and build chemistry, Luke may prove to be a quality QB. In the games that he started and had completion streaks, he was coming into the game basically with just one week to prepare with the starting receivers so who is to say he would not have won those games if he had longer to prepare like starting QBs do.

I read an article somewhere yesterday that was analyzing the Bucs and it broke down the team and how they believed that the offense could possibly be built to carry whoever the QB is and that the Bucs could possibly be one of the top offenses and now this article really gets me pumped up.

I do agree but can't help but wonder like he showed in the Bears game when he throwed so many passes I thought he showed he has the ability to correct that flaw he had if just given enough time starting a team and getting chemistry and timing between he and receivers. The start of the 2005 season WAS going great.

The Star would look good. I was thinking Horse shoe myself.

That is basically the same assumption that I have. I have just been waiting to see how it all plays out. With so many questions at that position they probably want to wait until camp to see what they have at that position and how great the need their is. When it comes to Franchises, signing comes down to value in dollars and cents over so much length of time and they are trying to be smart with the money and time that they tie put for however long. Teams do have to be careful during the signings, espsecially 1st round draft picks, Because they do have to be concerned about the bust factor. That is with all 1st round (not picking on Freeman).

I am one who really thought Griese didn't really seem to get fair treatment from the Bucs or many Fans. I sure have not seen how Leftwich could be more of an improvement over Griese. That is just my opinion. I have heard rumors that Griese had other interests that may have also added to the purpose of his release.

It is a sad situation for him to be in at this time. He seemed to be just getting to the top of his game and a bright future ahead of him. Hopefully his recovery will be swift and this will all be behind him. Our prayers our with him.

I have been wondering about how things were playing out with them. When Nugent was signed I felt like it was the road for Bryant because if the Bucs will release Brooks and company after what they have contributed then surely they would not blink at releasing Bryant.

I agree with Tetris_28, 3-2 is not a bad way to start the season especially with so many people in key areas just gelling together and forming chemistry. I can see them going 3-2 if they beat the Bills. The main reason I say if is The Bucs are not usually their best playing so far north. At LEAST it is not in the winter part of the season.

I'll be bold and break the mold. I predict this is the year that the Patriots stumble. With a year off and with all the life distractions (Knee infection after surgery, rehab, conditioning, training and of course the wedding) will some somehow have Brady off of his game like he somehow lost a step.

Dolphins 10-6

Patriots 9-7

Jets 7-9

Bills 6-10

AFC North ( I agree)

Steelers 11-5

Ravens 10-6

Browns 7-9

Bengals 4-12

AFC South (Colts are on the down hill but not last in division)

Titans 11-5

Colts 8-8

Texans 7-9

Jaguars 5-11

AFC West ( Al Davis still envolved and holds Raiders back)

Chargers 10-6

Chiefs 9-7

Broncos 6-10

Raiders 5-11

NFC East ( the order I agree but with all the Buress and TO distractions they slip)

Eagles 10-6

NY Giants 9-7

Cowboys 8-8

Redskins 7-9

NFC North ( Bears with no truly proven receivers may luckily break even)

Vikings 11-5

Bears 8-8

Packers 6-10

Lions 4-12

NFC South (devision is always unpredictable + playing against AFC and NFC EAST)

Panthers 10-6 That running duo (only) will be there strength

Buccaneers 8-8 They added many weapons on Offense and Bates plan works

Saints 7-9 They did litte to change defense and cut Deuce

Falcons 7-9 They will fall because opponents will not take them so lightly this year and the two east devisions will be tough on them.

NFC West ( I agree)

49ers 8-8

Seahawks 7-9

I agree whole heartedly 100% that it is time for Luke McCown to finally get his opportunity to be the starter and that the chance for the Bucs to have the best season they can this year all lies with McCown"s talents.
