I can make out a BRZ plaque under the rear trunk tape. I'm guessing that's just a result of a test mule car for the shared platform, and not an indicator that the BRZ is going to adopt GT86 styling. At least I hope not.

The spyshots car has the exact GT86 headlights. Bottom lip matches the Toyota as well, styling I can't imagine Subaru adopting.

I don't think that's a BRZ. It's VERY close to the GT86, with the side venting differences that were mentioned in the story. I think this is a GT86 refresh. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any Subaru badges.

Except for the color of the metal and leather strap, every element of the design is different. The surfaces, part breakup, strap attachment features, button layout and detail, the edges of the display glass... The strap designs are 100% different, look at the clasps. Design goes a lot deeper than material and color. This is like calling a BMW a knockoff of a Volvo because they both have headlights and come in silver.

Hipsters are usually pretty well off financially, despite how hard they try to make it look otherwise. Every hipster I've seen either has the newest iPhone, or an old LG flip phone (for the irony of course.)

I drive a car with close to 180k miles on it, and it's 15 years old. While I have to throw some cash at it every now and then, it's far cheaper than a monthly car payment. I'm also fortunate enough to be able to do a lot of the repair work myself, so that saves me hundreds of dollars (you'd be surprised what you can accomplish yourself with Google and a nice set of wrenches.)

I think the main argument for a new car is reliability and safety. If you need a 100% success rate on getting to work on time, an older car may be an issue. Personally, I don't see a 2001 Civic as being very old. As long as you keep oil in it and fix things as they break, you should be able to push that odometer to the 250,000 mark with no problems, at a cost much lower than a car payment.

I had to visit this old post and mention that I discovered Selection Manager recently, and it has changed my life. No more creating sketches to loft between two complex edges in a single loft. Now I can just use Selection Manager to chain some edges together.

This isn't a redesign, it's a slight refresh. You can see that they're keeping the same tooling and parts for most of the unit, the bezel gets a different button layout but everything else looks the same. Moving the touch strips to the back is a good move. I think when they did it on the 20WX I remember reading good feedback that it cut down on accidental activation. I'm glad this is happening, but I don't see anything for current Cintiq owners to get excited about. New owners are going to get a very very slightly better product.

I hope we'll see a few more Cintiq models this year, but maybe they're saving a complete redesign for the multitouch model. I'd like to see the OLED displays for labeling function keys from the new Intuos line. I'd also really like to see a middle of the road screen size, like a 17" widescreen. Something that's thin and lap-able but with more working space than the 12" Cintiq.

Forgive my negative tone here... it's just that after years of waiting for the Cintiq to catch up with Wacom's new product identity, this very slight refresh is disappointing. I'm just glad we know that there's bigger and better things coming down the pipe.
