Apple's earnings will be announced July 24th, so another $11 Billion will be added to the cash hoard, so I'm a bit "below" what they currently hold in cash. Please learn to use recen data. I also included "no debt" in my comment... so they had "cash or equivalents" of $1.1 Billion, they were "liquid", not even close to bankruptcy. they just didn't have strong sales until about 2 years later with the success of the iMac... but had plenty of assets to ride out those 2 years.
-
My favorite quote from that time period: "It takes a long time to kill a $11 Billion dollar company"... :)

Re: U.S. Mac sales slump in Q2, says IDC

No, Apple was never close to bankruptcy, that was just an urban myth... on their darkest day, they still had $1.1 Billion in cash and no debt don't forget. Also keep in mind the 4" iPhone will happen in the next few months, so a 7" or 8" doesn't make a lot sense... Lastly, from a programming perspective, Apple can't just say "surprise", we now have a new screen size... the layman doesn't understand, but new artwork must be created, UI elements must be adjusted, etc.

Re: Steve Jobs or Bill Gates: Who Will Be Remembered 50 Years from Now?

unsure what you mean... i re-read what i wrote, and it was all accurate... so you don't know computing (web/internet) history either? is that what you were trying to say?

Re: What the iPhone wrought -
