Finally finished this today, excellent guide to 100%, better than IGN which I tried to follow initially.

Only minor thing that would have made it better is to mention the magic bean locations (as a child to plant in advance) It was mentioned for some but not all, unless I just didn't read it correctly.

Every time I fireup my old Nokia 808 I get alerts and an email that my account is being accessed from a less secure device and it has been blocked. (Can still do it if I allow less secure apps or something)

So a by default security concern is probably going to be the biggest reason things might stop working. Although really whos going to be trying to get into old Nokia?

Only just watched it, makes a lot more sense looking back. Steve on here tirelessly defending their decisions while they were over there fragmented and fighting within the company between themselves and o course the management greed taking over, had they listened to their "fans" things could have turned out different.

That said they only cover part of the story, it ends abruptly, they need two more episodes, one to cover how things went during the touchscreen era, and the fall of the Microsoft takeover.

agreed, I don't like iPhones but i see the appeal, If I have an issue with my XZ2 Compact ill be alone, If I bought an iPhone SE (or any iPhone), im sure I could get online support for any issue I face, worse come to worse an easy replacement. Sony are notorious for poor support so really im the idiot.

I managed to get the XZ2 Compact for a good price around four hundred squids, but even so I sorely miss the headphone jack why they ditched it on phones so thick is beyond me, I don't really like using the dongle, my car only has aux, and i use a wired headset once in a while, and all bar one headphones I have are wired.

Apart from that I love it, I don't take photos much so can't say much on that. my decision was between this and the Nokia 7+ but that does not have a notification light, I know it has glance type screen but I've become used to the notification light.

I was under the impression the device you plug in decides what it wants, not the charger intelligently scaling back its supply? Iv'e not come across any phone blowing up from being charged by a non smart charger.

I feel manufacturers should be forced to provide replacement services at a reasonable price, then maybe we wouldn't be such a throwaway society?. If everyone was offered the chance to replace their phone battery for £25 like apple is doing at the moment im sure lots of us would jump at the opportunity!

Not intending to take over but I just updated my Windows 10 PC to fall creators update and it doesn't even mention Windows Phone as an option it just says Android or iPhone! They have this new linking feature.

Surely this is the last nail? or maybe a few more nails to come...

Or any of the paid maps have it, and of the free ones Waze has it. That is the one feature I like. So whenever going long distance I use tomtom (yes i paid for it) as in my eyes the whole cameras and speed limits thing justifies it for me (cheaper than points and a fine) but anything local ill use google maps for traffic and as I can quickly pinch and zoom when needed and i know the speed limits.

Windows phones are no doubt the best interface 100%. the vertical scrolling of the tiles is exactly what made it fantastic. Im not sure sideways scrolling is a good idea unless it adds something else other than more tiles.

Also unless I have forgotten isnt the side swipe what brings up the all apps list?

I no longer use WP but I will say no doubt If I could get near all the apps on WP id definitely be using it.

I had been faulting this problem with a customer as a fault for no sync, this problem remains the case even going back to the HH3 with an openreach modem. The Modem maintains sync however the HH3 just freezes all three blue lights on but NO devices can use the internet once the chrome audio has made an attempt to connect.

I couldn't believe it myself, At first I refused to accept that a connecting device has this capability and just kept looking at other solutions. Maybe im going to sound stupid as its beyond my understanding but doesn't this border on a serious breach of security with the router that hackers could exploit?

Plusnet is owned by BT so they have just used the same manufacturer to rebrand the HH4/5

This has generally been very important for me when choosing any screened device for me be it a TV or phone thin bezel is a must. Thats why i like the z5 compact compared to the standard Z5. Personally I don't ever "hold" the front of the device, I grip the phone by the sides and the bottom of the phone rests on the pinky to use it one handed.

Steve a point to note maybe is the due to the front camera increasingly becoming more important than the rear it might never be possible to achieve the higher ratios. e.g. the Z3 compact vs Z5 compact the Z3 bezel is thinner at the top as the camera is better on the Z5 compact and maybe required more room?

Its familiar its the only thing they got going for them, they had launched and relaunched they are not taking off, Lumia is the furthest they have gotten and it does not have a bad rep. Everytime they relaunch it feels like an excuse, at mobile 7 it was don't worry guys we got 8 coming out its all changing, then dont worry guys we got 10 coming, now its like dont worry guys were not making phones anymore under the Lumia brand but we got updates coming to what we do have! Were also going to launch a Suface phone which will take far too long to release.

I really hope im wrong.

They spent a long time with the Lumia brand and now they are dumping it. What faith are the partners going to have if Microsoft themselves are not making a device. If not just to set a standard. Certainly not this soon, if the partners were bringing out devices hard and fast then fair enough but this is too early to pull the plug on their own devices. such a shame.
