Really appreciate your thoughtful response. I hope CBS is less strict on their hosts about tears. I think I shedded a tear thinking about the CBC reporter getting fired for shedding a tear.

It might seem confusing but Moblogic is going to be an extremely archive-rich show. Our hope is that you'll use our "related" shows to explore a news story more deeply. For instance, if you're watching a show about the Superdelegates, you'll be able to easily access other shows on the same topic ("What are Superdelegates?", "What happened to the Florida primary?", etc...) Hope this helps!

hey speedlet, why are you anonymous? you have some great ideas and I'm really curious to know who you are because you're obviously VERY familiar with our work. regardless of your identity though, i really appreciate the time you took here and the thoughtfulness of your critique. we've planned to do many of the things you outline and agree with your first comment that all good shows take a bit to settle into their own authentic voice. hope you're patient enough to see us get there. :)

Got lots of trips in the works, Russ. We've already been to a little town in Connecticut and are interviewing folks all over Austin. Have trips to Denver and Minneapolis planned and I'm lobbying for Utah, New Orleans and Detroit. Send us your show ideas!

What was really startling about this day of shooting was that we had all but given up hope of finding ANYONE on the streets of New York who wouldn't condemn American military spending and then we ran into that last guy. We had to cut a lot of his story but I had tears in my eyes hearing about his fallen family members and it absolutely made me think, "is that the responsibility that comes with our wealth?"

One question for you: WHO?

If you say that Islamic extremists are the main group trying to topple our monopoly on freedom and happiness, I would say 'what impact is all this spending having on those groups in particular?' And furthermore, do they want to "topple our monopoly on freedom" or just limit our freedom to impose our way of life on them?

And about the last guy in the piece: we left it in not just to be fair or neutral of whatever, but, instead as a response to how manipulative the news is usually. We don't want to decide ahead of time what agenda we want to serve and then cut the material to support it. We want to be open to be surprised in the field, as we were here, to meet someone who so clearly represents the opposite viewpoint. Then you can watch and decide for yourself.

I couldn't agree with more, IreneFAce. To err is human, to not is robotic. Of course, some of the most talented people get edged out of jobs and opportunities because of small slip-ups. Another thing that I think should have been considered is that Samantha Power is from Ireland and the Irish (and everyone from the UK) uses English slightly differently than we do here in the U.S. Applying our connotations indiscriminately is such an American trait. I think it's ridiculous that it blew up like it did.

Yeah, Amanda, this is the exact part that I find so distressing. If there's no way to keep it personal, then the choice you make can't truly be your own anyway. You have to think about the headlines. And your job and your husbands job. Where is the humanity is all that?

I disagree that the same pressure would be on the husband of a powerful female politician. We've yet to test that out but I think the standard would change.
