I did not expect you to see what I had written in response to your comic with all the notes it was getting, much less receive a reply, but thank you so much for doing so! The comic really did hit me on a personal level. This is not the first time I've been dealing with the situation but it's still very tough and I thought you put it into comic form very well. It's hard for me to even explain to talk about so I know if I had tried this myself it would not have come out as well. But yeah, I know that sinking feeling when you see that friend doing something with someone else and you just feel left out and not good enough, which is the worst when it's a person you have deep feelings for. You start thinking, could they never have feelings for me, do they already have feelings for this other person, etc. And you can't say anything because it's hard to not come off as self-centered or that you're mad at them for having other friends. It's a real conundrum that I'm afraid to approach. In a way, it's comforting to know that other people experience it, but at the same time, I wouldn't want anyone else to feel this way. So thank you again for taking the time to message me and I hope that things look up for you in the future!
-Niko

Re: Niko is Cartoons | anthonyholden:

The game always experienced a
boost in framerate if you turned off the 3D however, but I just tried
playing it and it's the same as it's always been. Swapnote does seem to
load slightly faster for me, but that started happening after the app
itself was updated, not the system. Perhaps there are other games I haven't tried since the update that run faster, but either way, I never had a problem with that sort of thing.

Re: Want a free Hobonichi Techo 2013 planner?

I love
Itoi's stuff and some of his quotes and ideas are really inspiring to
me. But this would be perfect for me as a cartoonist to plan out...well, anything, but specifically I need to plan and lay out a short I'm working on to pitch. I could also use it as a scrapbook for stickers and postcards I get from friends and conventions. Currently, everything's just kind of sitting in a pile.

Re: Niko is Cartoons | People advertising their YouTube channels in New...

Yeah, my original profile comment had my website in it, and I didn't know there was anything wrong with that so I got something removed by the administrators the first day the Wii U was out, haha

Re: Niko is Cartoons | You remind me of me, and I find that intriguing. ఠ_ఠ

Well I found the sock puppet thing through Kari Wahlgren, who I follow on Twitter because she's one of my favorite voice actresses, and I was excited to see other VAs I love like Pamela Adlon, Billy West, and Rob Paulsen (who I actually met recently), so it was really cool to see just this collaboration of various VAs I've been hearing my whole life, haha

Re: Protected: An Honest-to-Fuck Opinion of Superf*ckers

I think the series had an unfortunately weak start, if not straight-out bad. And that's saddening to me being a fan of Kochalka's work and Frederator and finally seeing the two of them team up. I think what the episode did well was introduce the characters and show us what they're like (though these four don't even make up the full cast). But on the other hand, it had no plot and not really a lot of jokes and, yes, relied heavily on obscene themes. And I was really taken aback by this because I saw a screening of an episode in October and it was LEAGUES better than this premiere. It had plot, it had jokes. The whole room laughed quite a bit. It was still kind of heavy on the cursing, but not to the point that this episode was, and I certainly would have remembered if it was, because when people overdo swearing just for the sake of doing it, it goes right through me. Indeed, it sounds like a 14-year-old who thinks that's being edgy, which is what a lot of people said about this first episode. And I can't blame them for that because it is true, but I can say I hope they will give it more of a chance than just one episode. The thing is, James has primarily done work in comics, and now he's moving into a completely different medium with a totally different and much broader audience. In contrast, Bravest Warriors essentially had a built-in audience. Not only is Pen Ward already an animator and has made a huge name for himself with Adventure Time, but Adventure Time appeals heavily to your average internet user and a lot of people already practically worship the ground he walks on, so it almost seems like Bravest Warriors doing poorly is an impossibility. I don't think many overzealous fans would openly admit if the show really was bad (but it isn't, it's pretty amazing, and I'm glad). But when people see something new, something they're unfamiliar with, the smallest slip-up can spell certain doom. The internet is a tough crowd. You've gotta figure out exactly what makes them tick and appeal directly to that. It looks as though Superfuckers draws a lot directly from the already-published comics rather than adjusting to the potential audience, which may not be a good idea. Not to mention, as a creator, I can say that one of the hardest things for me is writing an introductory episode. You want to show who your characters are, but you also have to find a plot that works around it so it's not just blatantly introducing them. I have SO much trouble with that, and now, seeing the reaction that people have to this first episode of Superfuckers, it scares me even more. But I sincerely want the show to do well, not just as a fan, but because I love the idea of shorter cartoons as well as internet TV and I would love to see this open new doors. It just depends on if the masses are willing to be open-minded and give it a shot as well.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 downloadable content... - Tiny Cartridge - Nintendo DS, DSi, & 3DS News, Media, Videos, Imports, Homebrew, & Retro Junk

"Top WW scores on HP"? I haven't done it though because I wasn't sure if you were looking for anything new at the moment, nor was I really able to get up the gumption to send off an email just to inquire about it. I worried myself because I have ideas but they're kind of all over the place and wasn't sure if it would work out anyway. I saw a couple of these "come work for us" images on the Frederator Flickr page and it got me excited, and now seeing this I feel a little better about it, so I think tomorrow I will get my thoughts sorted and give Eric a shout. Since this game is coming out in just a couple of months, I assume this is pretty close to the final product, but hopefully they'll put some new tunes in there (it's probably too late for the graphics). It's not a HUGE deal, but it seems odd that they wouldn't make it look fresh.

Re: http://tinycartridge.com/post/22447945663

Mine is the Fortune Bow, with 5 and a half stars on both range and melee attacks. It's almost like they have to be about a family who does crazy stuff. Futurama broke that and is a fantastic show on so many levels, and while it has thankfully seen life on other networks, but got pushed around by Fox. Sit Down, Shut Up didn't stand a chance on that network. I liked the idea and I LOVED the characters and design, but it was shut down almost immediately. I wonder if it had started on another network like Comedy Central or Adult Swim, would it still be alive today (though to be honest, it seems like none of Comedy Central's animated shows last very long, save for South Park)? Now we have Bob's Burgers, a show that I adore. And while it IS about a family, it's nothing like the other Fox shows. And it's great. But I do still wonder the same thing as Futurama and Sit Down, Shut Up: would it be better suited for a different network? I'm thankful Bob's Burgers has gotten the attention it has and I was so excited when a season 2 was a go. But I still feel like to get an animated show on Fox, it has to be about a family who lives in a regular house and they just do whatever they can, whereas Bob's Burgers has an actual premise and the episodes revolve around that premise. You'd think it'd be different, where the cartoons that stray from anything would be on smaller networks or for kids or what have you, and the ones with more of a foundation would hit it on a major network. Go figure.

Re: http://tinycartridge.com/post/18105391010

Also, I got one from Aonuma for Zelda. When the show first started, it was a lot of silliness and, of course, adventuring. A lot of things that you imagine as a child brought to life. There's no rhyme or reason, things just exist in the Adventure Time universe and you don't question it, which is how things should be with cartoons. There are different lands with all kinds of inhabitants, monsters to battle...everything kids dream of and that kind of gets lost as you grow older. Now, Adventure Time has kept that formula, but it's grown as a series and it's become personal in a different way. In a touching way. There's a continuing look into the lives of Finn and Jake and others, and while some episodes focus on those certain things, it doesn't take away from all the humor and action. It's turning into a coming-of-age story for Finn especially (and I'm a sucker for those, so maybe I'm a bit bias here, but I love that it's happening) and I can't wait to see where it leads. It's been quite an amazing ride to follow this series from its beginnings and to see so many talented artists who enjoy it, not to mention to see some of them join the team gives me chills. It's like they're actually taking in fans to work on the show and make it their own, I've never seen anything like it before. And it's genius.
I saw Pen at SPX 2009 (prior to the show's premiere, but I knew so much about it from Frederator and its blogs), talked to him for a brief moment and gave him a sticker or postcard of mine, and right after, my friend Ian Jones-Quartey came up and said hi along with Rebecca Sugar and he asked me "Was that Pen Ward?" I excitedly said yes and he said that he and Rebecca had some Adventure Time stuff to show him. A moment later, he walked back over to me because he recognized one of the characters on my sticker as my twitter icon, talked a little more with us, and he drew me a picture of Finn in my little sketchbook. Later on I sat with Ian and Rebecca and saw some of her sample Adventure Time layouts and storyboards, along with her other art, which was stunning. Now, to be able to think back on that and know that person is now working on the show is bewildering, especially as she was well-deserving of it and I always enjoy seeing her renditions of the characters in the show.
Frederator and Adventure Time really know how to cater to fans, in a good way. It's not like they're sucking up to fans to get more people to like the show and buy merch. It's the other way around. Fans love the show, the show gives back, and the fans love it more. Things like young Princess Bubblegum, Fionna and Cake, Me-Mow...all brilliant ways of actually incorporating fans into the cartoon. It's a new age where, with the internet, everyone has a voice, and Frederator is actually listening, and I hope to see more cartoons do the same. I can't wait for the next season of Adventure Time to see Finn's story continue, now with the Fire Princess an object of his affection, along with his regular, silly adventures with Jake and the rest of the crew.

Re: http://nikoanesti.tumblr.com/post/16194887036

Thank you, I appreciate that.
