Hi Leonie- Thanks for pointing out there were more than 12 in 2002. I was using information from the DOE. Do you know how many there were back then? And yes, I was/am aware that the small schools movement wasn't begun by Bloomberg. I was focusing on the roots of co-located schools since Bloomberg, though I could have made that more clear...

Thanks for commenting, Lisa. I appreciate your perspective. I didn't go into the history of the small schools movement, though I could have clarified that the origins of the movement are at odds with the current methods of co-locations. But I was aware that there was a history of it before Bloomberg (hence the word "resurrected"), and that co-locations have skyrocketed since he and Klein initiated them again--although obviously they've not gone well in many cases. What are some of the successfully co-located schools pre-Bloomberg, and are they still around? Also, I'm curious what "MOU's" stand for.
