If only I could housework-out for 6 or 7 hours a day, it just might do the trick. Clean floors and a trim waist... what joy!

Re: Trolley Treats

I'm a once-a-week, menu-planning shopper. Besides the meals and munchies and $15 dollars worth of tomatoes for my soon to turn into a cherry tomato toddler, I have finally learned to stock my pantry for suprise baking or an emergency meal. Beyond that, my shopping is very no-nonsense, which is why I inevitably feel like a slouch when I have unexpected company and have only milk, apple juice or coffee to serve, and no sweets at all. I had recently started to buy one bottle of red a week (Gallo, which is our home town winery, lucky us!) for my husband and I to share... but I'm expecting so I'll have to find a new splurge. He'd just as soon drink milk anyway. :)

Re: House Lust

I heard ferrets are mean. :) And stinky.

Re: BrocanteHome Hearts The Shabbee Chick

Really lovely! Nice to see something fresh and new with the change of seasons, too. I just love it.

Re: The Vintage HouseKeepers Circle

Paid blogging is uncharted territory. Commerce is ever-changing. If people went forever uncompensated for their creativity, the wealth of inspiration would eventually dry up when our artists and writers and purveyors of domestic order and bliss were forced into cubicles to put food on the tables. The dream of nearly every artist of every persuasion is to one day find a way to make an honest and humble living using the gifts God gave us, to make the lives of our children and even ourselves better. I would know.
Don't be discouraged, Alison.

Re: The Vintage HouseKeepers Circle

Oh for goodness sake. Maybe its because I'm an American and you know how we feel about free enterprise. I say, if you can make money doing something you love, then do it! There will be people who will pay, and those who will not, as with anything. We pay for magazines, we pay for books. This is a natural extension and I say, more power to you! By the way, I'm Debbi's daughter, the painter of your birdnest and eggs. Hi!

Re: http://brocantehome.typepad.com/brocante_home/2008/08/truth-and-lies.html

That is beautifully put and keenly felt. Sometimes even disciplined truth telling can amount to emotional manipulation. It is a fine line indeed.

Re: Wardrobe Heartbreak

Reading for months but this will be the first comment because its a topic I cannot resist! Three cheers for knowing what you like and liking what you wear. Necessary? Perhaps not, but neither is my weekly Dark Chocolate and Merlot night and I'm not about to give that up. This repost was timely for me, in that I was in the midst of a post of my own in the very same mood. Thank you. Lovely as always.
