Patents, Trade Marks, and Copyrights should exist however in this day and age they are being used to control way more then they were ever ment to

Re: Tim Berners-Lee Takes the Stand to Keep the Web Free

I have been wondering why the increase in Iframe usage recently. This article explains it as an Iframe is calling information from another site instead of embedding it. However this case could mean that all widgets in use must pay this IDIOT $$$ royalties sheesh

Re: IP & crowdfunding: are 1,000 NDAs better than none?

I like the basis of the crowdfunding bills though feel they still need a bit of work. IP is not something I had thought about in regards to them needed work.

However now that you got me thinking about it. I have to agree that where a companies IP is important to the success or failure of the company crowdfunding is not the tool to use. As this is most of your high growth companies citizens investing in companies through crowdfunding will not have access to these companies.

Re: Six Reasons to Be Cautious when Using PayPal

Well I do have personal experience with the shutting down your account at any time. Of course I always withdraw funds from my PayPal account so only lost a few cents less then a dollar.

However I did have to quickly set-up a new E-Mail address, New PayPal account and new code to replace the old code on my site until my project was finished. I still have the new PayPal account but have reduced its usage to only if there is no other choice.

Re: Why Google+ Wants To Know Your Real Name

Hmm actually if you know someone on google+ who is obviously using their real names they can set-up a Google+ page for the person who for what ever reason doesn't want to use their real name. Spur of the moment thought so needs much more thought placed into the idea

Re: Why Google+ Wants To Know Your Real Name

That secret question scenario has been on my mind since almost the dawn of the internet. Using geo location along with a combination of know where's you can basically get the answers to any of those secret questions within hours if not minutes using a decent search engine and other tools.

This is why I chose the questions not based on the true answer but based on how the question resonates with the false answer I provide so as to remember the false answer thus provided.

an example would be to use 1st born sons name and supply the name of your 1st pet instead.

Re: Music Posad: Letter From Vegas Dragons

Actually he just wished me a happy birthday the other day. 1st time I heard from him in ages

Re: Google To Launch Cloud-Based Music Lockers (Or I Was Right)

I actually remember when mp3 set up music lockers for visitors to be able to listen to their music from anywhere. That was the primary reason for the big 5 at the time to sue them out of existence. I think that was 2001. Of course mp3.com was bought by new owners and the site still exists minus the cutting edge things that the previous owners were working on

Re: An Argument Against Fan Funding

I actually would love to see one of these fan funding sites add in a mailing list for the artist. Of course the better route would be to integrate more easily reverbnations mailing list widgets

fan funding is great if the band has thought things through a bit rather then signing up with no plan to work with.

Re: Lobby Group Says Open-Source Threatens Capitalism

I think open source is really a boon for capitalism, with software that has already been built for new coders to work on, to gain new ideas from, etc. This then can be applied to new closed end software and thus add revenue to said companies.

Of course I actually would prefer that all software be open sourced myself.

Re: HOW TO: Use Twitter Hashtags for Business

Well I am still researching as much about hashtags as possible plan to do a 5 day E-Mail course on it for musicians and music fans. That is how I found out about the hootsuit search widget function.

Re: HOW TO: Use Twitter Hashtags for Business

With Hootsuite and maybe others you can not only create your hashtag but create a widget to share only those tweets with that hashtag on any web-site you want.

Now 1 of the advantages to this is instead of embedding your twitter feed on your main site. Where you tweet about tons of things unrelated to your brand. You can embed only the Hashtag feed thus reducing to your branding tweets. In fact another benefit to this is visitors to your site can see what others are tweeting with that hashtag, I would hope it is mostly relevant.
