I definitely don't blame Billy for wanting to sit out. I understand that dancers have previously performed with injuries on the show, but if it's a choice between being removed from the competition and kissing the rest of your dance career goodbye, it's an easy decision.

I don't think he did either. I watched it back a few times and counted 6 All-Stars and 4 S7 dancers.

I don't understand tonight's decision. At all. If you're that worried that Billy is going to set a bad precedent, then get rid of him. If you don't think Robert or Jose are growing enough, then get rid of one of them (preferably Jose). I love when Nigel makes up his own rules.

Also, I hate that Russell and Kathryn are the only ones from S6 that are going on the tour. And I'd rather see Lauren G. on tour than Shortney. Not that a re-casting of dancers on tour would make me buy tickets.

That does make sense. My only gripe is that none of that ever gets explained to us. We also had cut-aways to Alex in the audience every time his injury was mentioned last week. Ashley got no love. I wasn't even sure she was in the studio until she was on stage with Billy and Jose. It's a small annoyance that I'm sure isn't a big deal. As long as the dancers are getting fair treatment, I'm fine with whatever the producers and judges decide.

I'm also wondering what they're going to do for S8. All-Stars and a Top10/11 again? Or shall we go back to the old format? I thought some of your All-Star picks were good (Chelsie, if she'd just stop with that other dance show, Hok, and Jason). I'd also love to see Katee Shean again. She's up there with Allison and Lauren for me. We'll see what next season brings!

I am also having a negative reaction to this and I've only voted a handful of times. The show has already shown its affinity for favoring certain dancers (Ashley [I think that's her name?] vs. Alex or Billy or Lauren). Uncle Nigel may do well to take a page out of his previous show's book and give the judges a "save" to use once per season up until the Top 5 or so.

There have been times when I've been frustrated with America's top choice of dancer (i.e. Benji or Russell), but it has always been the viewers' choice throughout the series. Did I scream at my television when Allison Holker got sent home too early during her season? Absolutely. Do I think that America got it wrong that week and the judges would have sent home someone else? Yes. But that is what the show is. That is what it has always been. We have let the judges eliminate dancers each week and pick our Top 10 before. I have always thought it was important to pick a strong group of dancers that would be on the tour. This season they've done that already. When they went from starting with a Top 20 to a Top 11/10, they gave up their power to vote each week. They have their touring group (if they even decide to tour). They picked their favorite/the best dancers out of everyone else. Now it's America's turn.

I can't say whether I'll continue to watch or not. I may just watch Wednesdays and skip Thursdays all together. What's the point? Bad singers and judges deciding for Ameriker? Pass.

The camera work for the intros was atrocious. This is the first live performance show they've done in awhile/ever, so I was expecting things to be a little dicey. But those wide shots made me feel like I was sitting in the back row. Get it together directors/producers!

Nate - You are spot on, as always. I agree that Mia will really be the only jidge I'll be listening to this season. Last season, I found it difficult to even sit through the critiques. Also re:live performances, even Cat seemed a little off last night. Though she is still one of the best parts of the show.

I agree that Rebecca Hart's song sounds almost spot on for an instrumental version of Kelly Clarkson's Already Gone. You are awesome at this song recognition thing!

The more and more I watch that video though, the more I'm convinced that she actually danced to a different song and the show couldn't get the rights to it. Maybe I'm just overanalyzing it!
