We are so early in this game, but it is working for us:
-iPhone 6s using the camera app for video
-Shure's MV88 mic for the iPhone
-mounted on a phone holder on a tripod
-we use a laptop with powerpoint as a side-mounted teleprompter
-iMovie for simple video editing
-we bought two licensed tracks to use for background music
-our lighting is natural in our lobby

I had thought about this and I don't think I agree, but I would in any other situation. Why?

The Nintendo/Mario fanboys are going to drive this much like Pokémon and the Final Fantasy fans.

I believe people would buy a proper Mario game on mobile just like they do Sonic and Cloud--probably more so.

Which is why they keep releasing old games on the Virtual Console...because no one would pay for it.

Nope. That's because I'm using Keynote on iPad, paper notes, and my Bible. I may use the note functionality on Keynote in the future, but I do all my notes with Google Docs.

I don't like the direction Apple is going with Pages and Keynote (dropped functionality to make it align with the iPad), so I may drop it all together. The percentage of failure for paper and Bible is much much lower than with an iPad.

I think the iPad is great, but I believe it has become a temptation for too many to do other things during services. I recognize everyone is different. To each his own with it.

This is one of those rare times that I do not agree with Martyn Lloyd-Jones. Everyone makes the time to do what they love or spend time with Who they love. My wife is a mother of three under that age. She gets up earlier for that time. She had to drop something to do it.

Also, there are two mothers of five with children under ten in our church. They make the time as well. All three of them made a "sacrifice" in something they'd like to do. They all look forward to having the time to do it again. In the meantime, they support one another through it.

I didn't know that in Scriptures God gave a pass on mothers.

My son is 10. He was just baptized this last Sunday. As a result, I asked him to pray for the offering. He prayed for God to "help us give as much as we can."

His prayer was genuine, sincere, and full of child-like faith. As much as we can. It's not really mine to begin with. I've read and heard testimony of people giving 90% of their income and God still met needs.

I'm not for sure that all are church plants. I think some are taken over from previous denominations (that might be a harsh phrase in some cases) and completely changed to match the Harvest philosophy. Is this mentioned at all?

This is not the first I've read of sarcasm and condescending in his writings either. This is disappointing because many of his earlier messages and books are excellent. I'll still read this but it's now lower on my list for 2013.

I too fell prey to the Revelation app based on your recommendation. My guess is two things: they would probably make more money if it was a book and it is very easy to "steal" the images from the app.

It would make sense to me as to why it was done this way. It's just a shame that not much was said about it or as to why. I mean I spent money on it.

Oh, I also got the book version too. It is GREAT but the size and glossiness of the iPad screen made the art really stand out.

Went to the one in Schaumburg as family durning the middle of the week. It was way over-crowded. We felt like cattle being herded. The lines to the "attractions" we're long and all the classes were full until closing. the attached store was super expensive. We were there before lunch.

This was just under two years ago, but hopefully they have changed some things by then. However, amid the chaos our boys loved it. The Lego displays were pretty cool and the build room was interesting. You had to turn in your license to get certain Legos to build with though. The 4D movie was interesting, but not anything to have your head explode over. It was actually nice to be in the quiet for a while.

Later, we went to the Lego store in the mall about .5 a mile away. It sounds crazy, but they had a lot more fun there and it was cheaper-–even with walking out with 3-4 cups of Legos.

There have been many great games on XBLIG that have moved over to the PC such as on Steam. I wonder if they are making more money and if it's easy to port?

I've read articles online where getting paid from Microsoft is kind of a pain. I don't have my 360 hooked up all the time, but my PC is on every day.

Wizorb, all the Radiangames titles, and a few others I play regularly. Of course, it's because I saw them on the 360 first. I paid MORE for them on the PC though.

I agree.

However, I wish the toys of today stood up to the abuse of normal play. Transformer parts break and Hot Wheel cars crack. Crack? Yeah, die-cast plastic will do that. My boys have five Hot Wheels that I had as a child. The wheels still roll straight, the cars have heft, and they still look pretty good. Actually, they look loved.

The GI Joes I've passed along have been through wars and all sorts of torture. (They never talked.) But the current lines of action figures are not as pose able and they feel very cheap.

Ah, I'm just getting old. My kids will be saying the same thing about their kids toys.

As an aside, the general rule is that the more simple the toy, the more play it gets in out house. LEGOs top the list. Simplistic, but complex.

Disney really missed the boat capitalizing on all the Tron hooplah a whole two years after the movie's release. now, the show has to stand on its own. Big names notwithstanding, we've only seen a teaser.

While I think that looks good, we'll see how it goes. This is the same studio that killed the spectacular Spectacular Spider-Man too soon.

Man, we love us some Phineas and Ferb though. How can they keep raising the bar?
