I think you just get to an age where you don't have the energy to be tactful with people who don't deserve it. After rushing around like a MF all day last Saturday and finally racing in to a shopping centre to pick up lunch for my hungry, tired children at 3pm, I raced out to find a guy had parked his car right next to mine so crookedly, my daughter and I had to turn sideways and breathe in to open our doors. (There were plenty of spaces around us btw). I'd frickin had it by that stage, bend down, looked in his window and shouted "good park!" and drove off. Good role modelling, Mummy.

Regrets? None. He had it coming ;)

For me it was the Rolling Stones twice. I didn't even know I was a fan until the first time I saw them. Oh Keith.

No one that sings I'm an Individual has ever cracked on to me but my friend had a one night stand with one of the guys from Primal Scream (get your rocks off honey) when we were in Istanbul around 20 years ago give or take.

I lost the power of speech when I met Julia Gillard. Despite the fact I have interviewed a few famous entertainers, that I was prepared to meet her and that I can usually talk underwater, even small talk was beyond me. She is someone I truly admire and opportunity lost. I could have kicked myself afterwards.

I very much give a fuck but only about opinions by people i truly respect, know and trust. When i write for online sites I mentally prepare myself for negative comments and try not to dwell on them. I put them into the Everyone's Entitled To An Opinion file and reason you cant please everyone and they couldn't please me either. Namast-fuckin-ay :)

I broke up with Foxtel after over 10 years 18 months ago. I've never looked back. The only shows they have exclusively that I want to watch (I'm talking less than 5) I could only watch if I signed up to all the different packages. That's all well and good if you have a monopoly on good tv. Which you no longer have, Foxtel.

I love Netflix, Fetch and free to air (iView is the BEST).

But I did have a good week and I fricken loved your post on cleaning the room. I had a similar experience a month ago ... but in the spirit of understanding those who are against will pass on this little ditty - my partner told me that his workmate was sick of him and his wife telling his teenage kids to cleaning their rooms so he removed the bedroom doors from the hinges and told them they would go back when the rooms were cleaned. :)

For me it's sort of the opposite. He'll go off at the kids (sometimes me too but rarely - he's not stupid) for little things like putting the empty Milo container back in the cupboard or mixing up the tongs on taco night (this actually happened this week). Meanwhile, I spend the day sorting out activities and schedules, dealing with kid dramas and making sure there is enough bread and milk in the house (oh and working) without feeling the need to complain and I think he just needs to get the eff over these ridiculous peeves, stop wasting my time with them and save his energy and attention for the bigger (aforementioned) stuff that needs attention. Wow. That was cathartic!

What’s your story? I'm a freelance writer and mum to 8 yr old girl, 12 yr old boy and 2 teenage step daughters. We've been in a blended family now for two and a half years since I moved my two 40 clicks from where we were. It's been a bit challenging at times but currently great and it's all worth it to be with the man I was so lucky to fall in love with after being a single mum for two years. But secretly/obviously, my love for any of that mob don't hold a candle to my affection for champagne and my dresses (aka "the girls).
How long have you been reading WoogsWorld? I think for about a year. Love it. Love your writing sick!

I'm not entirely proud of it but many many years ago I stole a packet of chewy from a high street chemist type outlet in London just for the experience of doing it once in my life. What can I say, brain cells weren't in abundance for me in those heady days!

While I am not a best-selling author by any means, I have had a book published (and more to come!) and my advice to anyone with a good book in them (or more importantly out of them and on to the computer/paper/typewriter): don't give up.

If one publisher or agent doesn't feel it's right for them, send it to lots more. Remember, JK Rowling was all but forgotten when a publishing assistant found it, thought it had merit and convinced her colleagues to take a chance on it.
