There comes a point in the film where they have to have a serious gut check with each other and they come to realize that if their dreams were to all go down in flames, that would be ok....they would go back to doing door-to-door sales and start over.

To me, that's the kind of chutzpah (moxie, if you will) that more businesses need to take on - because, without that kind of hunger, grittiness and passion, you lose desire to make something unique and innovative. And, more to your point, innovation leads to real success.

Not just making profits, but really making a success of your efforts. You get this by dropping the curtain and by being the kind of company that is willing to go back to handling door-to-door sales if it came down to it...because you believed enough in your vision and NOT your pocketbook.

Re: Lady Justice is blind, thankfully jurors are not

Non Verbal Communications is what can make or break an interview on something like 60 Minutes. I've seen multiple interviews handled on TV where the person being interviewed started screwing up...stuff like
* sweating
* shifting
* darting their eyes
* folding their arms
* licking their lips
* inadvertently covering up their faces at times

This is the kind of thing that can DAMAGE a company's reputation...and certainly a case in a court of law. This is yet another BIG REASON why having your spokesperson 'media trained' - just to have a certain peace-of-mind is enough to do it...even if your spokesperson(s) is(are) savvy and comfortable with the press.

You'd be surprised to see what a TV camera (or jury) can pick up!

~ Narciso Tovar
@Narciso17

Re: Vulnerability: The Secret Sauce for Relationships?

YES! Moreover, the fact that you gave us two places to visit on seemingly opposite ends of the spectrum say ALOT about you. HOWEVER, the fact that both places feed us (emotionally, spiritually and physically) makes you a Communicator and a Fella to Trust.

Here's to a Great Year Behind You and MANY MORE to Come!
