Spell check works wonders! Maybe your paper could "investigate" that computer tool. Sigh

Re: Underage party host facing grownup charges

Glad I moved...wish I could too! This makes me sick that Justin is being battered here. I have asked all those with perfect children to step up...no one did! My 3 kids are far from being saints, as I previously stated. However those 3 kids have gone on to succeed after they left Londonderry. Just wish i left when they did. They actually goof on the shollow narrow mindeness of this community.

Re: Underage party host facing grownup charges

Lizzie you are so right. justin was the definition of school spirit. At the XC's walk for hunger...he ran. When I see him in town he is always a polite young man stopping to say hello. Mr. Elefante loved the character that Justin displayed on a daily basis. That is why he was awarded the scholarship! To take that away from him is a mute point. right now Justin made a poor choice and will answer to the legal system for that. he certainly doesn't need to be tried in the press by those that don't know him. Hang in there justin. Learn from this mistake and go foward. I wish you all the best kid.

Re: Underage party host facing grownup charges

Mike, I'm proud of you for sticking up for Justin, and giving your full name. I have known Justin since he was in middle school running cross country with my son. I have know Joan and Ron and feel that all the bashing some have done is ridiculous. I have had 3 children go through this school system. They at times also were in situations where they , too, could've had their names printed here. Teens are far from perfect! If you have one I'd love to hear about it. Bottom line this is a great kid who made a poor choice and will suffer those consequences. I'm thankful no one died, as was the case at Plymouth State with Herbert. I praise Jim Elefante for awarding Justin the principle's award. Justin deserved it, along with the other scholarship's he received. For those questioning that...I have no idea why? We are all parents hoping that this never happens to us.

Re: Underage party host facing grownup charges

Sue, I too have had a relative killed by a drunken driver. I don't for a second condone drinking and driving! I do take issue with Dave saying this child/adult doesn't deserve a scholarship. One has nothing to do with the other. Here is a teen that made a huge error in judgement that he and his family will be punished for. I happen to know and care about this family, and feel Dave's remarks were way out of line.

Re: Underage party host facing grownup charges

I think your comments were uncalled for Dave. I hope your child never has the misfortune of being at a teen party where alcohol is involved! On any Summer night in Londonderry or anywhere there is one. Justin happened to be caught. He's a great kid who made a mistake that all too many teens are making. For that he will be punished. It saddens me to read that you think he doesn't deserve a scholarship because of it. Go to any college campus, USA to see much worse . Also remember you were once a teen who, no doubt, also made mistakes.
