Do Indian guys marry White chicks more? Or do Indian chicks marry White guys more? According to an article I read in Nirmala magazine, Indian boys tend to marry Black chicks more. The respondents of this website seem to contradict this though..... No stats on Indian chicks marrying White boys. From my experience, though, I see more Indian chicks with White guys.

You should explore the weird dynamics of dating outside your tribe and suddenly becoming interested in your stuff.....such as how I don't really care about Indian stuff except when I'm dating a non-Indian chick and make it past three dates. Then all of a sudden I'm all about Ganesh Chaturti, Diwali, interested in Indian culture and blah blah blah. Or perhaps it's just me sabotaging relationships.......hmmm.....

What? I'm just stating what someone told me. Yes, I'm probably biased being an Indian American but that plays no part in this. This guy, who was a Pakistani, told me his buddies would lie to girls and tell them they were Indian, sleep with them and dump them. You're right though, there are jerks in every race, religion and ethnicity.

I once had a conversation with a Pakistani fellow who told me his friends would lie to American girls and tell them they're from India, use them and dump them. This way they got to have their fun and give Indians a bad name at the same time.

Oh I wasn't trying to put down Hare Krishnas by any means. You're right they know more about Hinduism than most Indians. Talking to a few of them has left me feeling embarrassed at times. As far as what I think of them........they're like anyone else. There are good ones and there are bad ones. I don't think it's right to make a sweeping judgement on the whole movement.

Too funny. Reminds of when I was young, living in NY and we'd go to the airport to drop off some people. We'd run into those Hare Krishnas promulgating their faith. I distinctly remember one time one of them came up to us to commune with fellow Hindus and revel in the rapture of the Mahabharat or Ramayan and my uncle smiles and tells him we're Muslims. Lol

Ah.....you must live in the northeast. Just got back from there. Loved it. Watching AVS and Namaste America and liking Indian food is fine. Becoming a yoga instructor, changing your name to some yogic form and just generally being weird is not. ;P

You know I think it's kool that you're into Indian culture. I think the way you got into it is understandable. Aditya is an Indian as he was born there and grew up there. So when you started dating him and eventually married him, your interest in the culture was piqued. I, however, have been raised here in the US from a very early age so while I am cognizant of my culture and it is a component of my life I'm more a guy who happens to be Indian than an Indian guy. I once went out with this white girl who was totally into India. Yoga, vegetarianism, spirituality, etc. etc. A little too much for me. Suffice it to say, that didn't go past date one.

Hmmm.......In a sense a lot of Indian marriages are "intercultural" because there are so many different cultures and languages within India. You should really see "Riddle of Midnight" by Salman Rushdie. You'll understand the riddle by the end of the documentary.....

Hmmm...being an American of Indian extraction I've had the opportunity to attend both American and Indian weddings. Don't think there's much difference in the fact that both sexes segregate with each other. The boys hanging out with the boys and the girls hanging out with the girls.....My two cents.
