Confession Time! I've been a subscriber for about 5 years now, but how I got this past years stuff is a little iffy. Basically, I let the deadline slip to renew so I did not get it for a month. Then, I was on a forums and someone linked to a site where you put in your info and they gave you a free year of EGM. Well, I did it and lo and behold, I got a free year of EGM. Now, I feel bad about it...

Sowy :( I should have not been a cheap bastard and just paid the cash...

I just want Heavy Rain to hit me as hard as Indigo did. Also, I am with Greg in that I need to beat FFIII. I've played it about 20 hours, but no completion yet.

P.S. You bought L4D on the 360, Shoe? I suggest buying it on the PC immediately. Shaun of the Dead mod? Yesh please...

Long story short. Apparently, when you are the tank in the open street, you are supposed to hit the cars into the subway, so you can block the Survivors from getting down into it. Well, I went up to a van and tried to hit it. Well, it doesn't move like the cars do... They proceeded to call me a complete retard and then rage booted me. I was Left 4 Sad :(

I totally agree with John Davison's comment about explaining MGS4's story. When people ask me I say, "Uhhh. well there is this guy named Big Boss, but I'm starting when he is still just Naked Snake because he has to beat the Boss in MGS3, which is actually a prequel..." And then they walk away...

Oh, and much love to Joe Funk for giving me an excuse to watch that GH commercial...again...

Ahh, cool . Thanks, Shoe. I've never been to either of those sites, but I've bookmarked them now. For some reason I like smaller blogs for my news as opposed to big ones like IGN (And I never go to Gamespot ever since their Ratchet: FTOD review. Shallow, I know, but you don't get a sports reviewer to review a platformer. No wonder he thought there was too much variety.)

But ya, smaller blogs are generally funnier and feel more unbiased, so I like to go with them.

Very nice blog. Just so you know, the January 2008 blog about SF IV had a very nice cover, as well, but I agree that the Feb issue looked amazing.

It's sad to see EGM go. I guess I'm only down to Gameinformer now on the gaming mag front. I know a bunch of people say that mags are going to die soon, but I disagree. Sure, most if not all of the information from the magazine is leaked on the internet before it even hits the stand, but to me there is nothing like looking at the pictures between your own to hands.

So, here's to EGM

For me it has to be that fact that we have not seen anything from the NCSoft/Sony partnership. I was so excited at the prospect of playing some of my favorite MMO's on my PS3, but after about 2 years, there has been no wind of a game coming out...

I need me some Guild Wars 2!!!!

I want to check out The World Ends With You. I've been interested in it for a while, but I can't find it anywhere- Not even used.

As for my personal Overshadowed GOTY...I'd say Soul Calibur 4, just because I felt like it was extremely packed with content and features very balanced gameplay. It just seems like everyone put it off and focused on Street Fighter. Oh Well...

Well, I have played both games and the main thing about both of them is that them are an explosion of color. The reason I like Ratchet better is because it is smoother and it is filled with way more stuff than Banjo's sometimes barren environments. Sure, both of them look great, but Ratchet is just more fun to look at.

I agree with Greg. MGS4 is just an epic in every sense of the word. Fantastic cinematics, varied game play, the best graphics, AND an online mode that I actually put 60 hours in. It = Win

Honorable Mentions go to: LBP (I was surprised it had no love from anyone.)
L4D (You shoot zombies with friends...need I say more?)
Chains of Olympus (I love Kratos in my pants. Wait...That didn't sound right...)
R2 (For the amazing Co-Op, mainly)
Crisis Core (I never thought I would put 12 hours into this game in 2 days, but there is something so addictive about the combat in short burst.)

I am surprised by all the love for Burnout. I loved the demo. (Flicking off your friends online after they take you out is TOO much fun.), but have yet to pick up the full game. I plan on buying the Ultimate Box in Feb. Still, a racing game as GOTY. That's impressive.
