Whoa ladies, chill out. I didn't say AB was the next anything. I was just saying he is an explosive player that has experience and has shown the potential to take over the game. Dwayne Wade was no Dwayne Wade either until Crean took over him. He was only recruited by one school besides Marquette. So before you try to throw me under the "culture of IU basketball" bus, why don't you go ahead and look at the potential that Armon has. Do you think that Crean doesn't want to touch him? If the grades aren't there, then no, of course not. That is his top priority and I applaud that. But if AB comes out and improves himself off of the court then why would Coach Crean want to leave him alone?

I have seen AB walking into Assembly Hall twice in the last few weeks. I agree that he, and probably Ellis as well, want to stay at IU and will do anything to achieve that goal. I imagine that Bassett has Crean watering at the mouth given his explosive potential and ability to hit fall away jumpers similar to one Dwayne Wade. I guess it will just come down to their attitude over this next week. They definitely have many people on this campus "pulling" for them.

I do appreciate the incredible talent that Eric has, it has been a blast watching him and he might be the reason I start watching NBA games again (if he gets on the floor). I hope that he becomes a star so I can buy his shoes and tell my kids about how incredibly awkward he was in front of a mic.

I agree that Ellis is going to have to pick up the scoring slack, but another thing I think the game will come down to is stamina. Without DJ's superior shot blocking and lane clogging PU is going to be able to slice inside with no problem, making the tempo extremely fast. It will be interesting to see how long Sampson feels we can run with them before trying to slow the game down a bit.
I think we can win if we hit the big shots and keep Hummel from blowing up. It will obviously take a big game from EJ and it will be very interesting to see how he holds up without his safety net.

I think DJ will play and be rather effective. He wasn't fast so we don't have to worry about a loss of speed. I imagine his rebounding totals will be low for a few games, but I don't think it will limit his post play much. Granted I do not know what I am talking about at all, I think he should be just fine. This also might just be wishful thinking because I have floor seats for the PU game.

the problem with not letting him out of the letter is that It is a huge red flag for future recruits and it makes us look terrible. The last thing the next administration needs to worry about is looking like cry babies for holding a recruit. Plus if we hold him we won't benefit in any way because he will just transfer.

We just played ourselves out of that win. We were obviously the better team on the floor, we just gave it away. Why did DJ not touch the ball every possession in the second half when we were shooting garbage from behind the line and he was on fire? The zone looked great at times, but then we would forget to make switches and they would bang threes. Sure the refs could have made better calls, but there is no excuse to let them outplay us down the stretch.

Not to get negative, but I considered that game the most likely of the next three for us to win. Purdue SMOKED them and we lost it on a three by a big man. Not looking good for the next 6 days.

We need a big game from Ellis, Crawford, or Basset in order to pull this one out. I think EJ will be a mild factor in this game given that he is going to have 8,000 suburban kids yelling mean things at him like "verbal commitment indian giver". DJ will be big, but he is always big. I agree that tempo will play a large role in this game, but even more then that I think staying out of foul trouble will be more important. If DJ gets in trouble early it gives Bruce Girl ownership of the paint. Ratliff will be a no factor and Taber's line will be highlighted by 18 high fives with Ahlfeld.

Hmmm maybe last season when he was good for 20 against wisc in the biggest upset of the year for us. Or maybe when he went 6-6 against purdue.

I'm trying to stay positive, but its hard. We definitely need great guard play and dj cleaning the glass for all 40. They will still have the bitter taste of the upset from last year which worries me.

I think the four man in our case should play with the great Ron Artest philosophy of "no layups". They need to come in and not look to foul, but make it hurt when they do -- especially against a guy like Thabeet who can't shoot charity shots. Also with the sheer size of MW and De, they should be setting more screens and jamming the lane. When it comes to the offense Lance is obviously the best bet. I like the physical play of MW, but he can't finish.

I heard that there is no break, just a hairline fracture.

My far flung theory is that Sampson is a patient man. How many upsets are there each year in March? Don't you think that a few of those coaches wish they had a fresh pair of legs to come in off the bench and knock down a few threes? Obviously this is all speculation, but it wouldn't surprise me to see AJ's playing time pickup down the stretch just in time for him to begin playing really well when the tourney rolls around.

One thing I want to see tonight is EJ following his shots. I know he is used to hitting every shot, but he still needs to follow the ball. So many times after a miss he would of had an open lane to the rebound but he is already back peddling down the floor.

I don't really think that we are expecting him (Crawford) to play at a higher level, I think it is the poor shot selection and sloppy ball handling that fans complain about. There is no doubt that he has talent, but he needs to choose his shots better and learn how to throw crisp passes. He did carry this team last night and for that I am extremely grateful. He even passed the ball a few times when he had open looks which is fantastic. I also love the energy he brings, he just needs to learn (like all young players) when to shoot, when to pass, and when to go to the rack.
