Agree with the idea that there is a lower low ahead somewhere. But I also believe there are reasonably good odds of a rally in the near term. I don't think the first point precludes the possibility of the second point.

I must not fully understand the 7 day rule. I thought it had to be up 6 out of 7 days, yet we've had 2 down days (Monday and Tuesday)?

Is this a case where stockcharts updated the numbers later? When I pull up a chart of NYUPV:NYDEC, the Friday close shows 3.156.

Took a quick look at the data, starting in 2012, I think I see 36 times SPY was up 5 days in a row. SPY was down the next day 20 times. Tiny bit better than a coin flip.

If I have my numbers right, tomorrow favors the bulls over the last 5 years (up 3 out of 5), but the average gain is about +10 bps. So recent history suggests a snoozer.

I believe we have had 3 gaps down on the open, in a row. Seems less likely that there would be a fourth. But for the full trading day, doesn't necessarily mean up.

I see that the equal weight S&P has been under-performing the cap weight S&P significantly in recent days (really all of March). That does not seem healthy.
