I had been to the old site a few times in the past... but was excited to see this new offering. I was more than a little peeved.

Re: The Lost Experience

hehe... It is a pretty interesting concept.

I love the show, and I've been addicted to it since the very beginning. It's the one thing that I am truly selfish about... Not really digging it.

There is way too much going on here. I switched to using Google because of the simplicity of its homepage. The use of shading, gradients, and diagonal lines is very "Web 2.0" but I don't think it adds anything to the user experience. The left navigation is clunky and the alternating text sizes on nav items is distracting.

Doing a side-by-side comparison of the new version versus the old, I am more inclined to use the old version.

Nice try, Yahoo... but I think there's some work that still needs to be done here.

Re: The Quest

Yeah, though as far as 'advertising crap' goes... I think this was one of the more involved/interactive advertising campaigns I've seen. Considering we don't pay anything for Google's Services, I have come to fully accept that advertising is probably going to snake its way into most, if not all of the gApps I currently use. (They've got bills to pay, too!)

Re: MacBook, Whoa.

never set foot in an Apple store? WineLog is over a week too late, and doesn't have any big names behind it (Dan Benjamin of HiveLogic + Dan Cederholm of SimpleBits = Tundro) that the web community can stand behind.

Add to that the fact that WineLog doesn't have a drop of meta content in the source code, or a meaningful page title. You're absolutely right. Jesus Christ IS the Son of God. My mistake for using the past tense.

I used to make the argument to friends that the Bible was filled with lies or half-truths because man had a hand in writing it. Faith requires us to believe that the Bible is the word of God. I can't believe that anymore. I can't believe that the Bible is anything other than the Word of God. Maybe I'm stupid for believing that, but that's where faith comes in.

As for the sound research available... well, if there's anything I learned while pursuing Political Science in college - research can be manipulated to report whatever "facts" the author intends...

Re: We’re Still Alive

You're probably right. If you believe that the Bible is the Word of God, transcribed by men of God to transcribe, then manipulation is not possible.

We can argue this to death, but it's certainly not going to change what I believe.

Re: DaVinci Code

Thanks, Carlton! We give too much credit to jokers like this. The problem when stuff like this gets passed around is - some people actually believe it. We can't trust in other people. We can only trust in God.
