Trans women are not obligated to be nice to misguided, racist white women like the TERF's. they have made it clear since the 70's they are hostile to us, wish to oppress trans women, and gleefully collude with conservative politicians and white evangelicals to roll back our human rights.

And if as a cis woman you are adopting the language of our longtime TERF oppressors as Navratilova and Adichie did, we will not hesitate to call you out for doing so. Trans women around the world are are beyond sick and tired of TERF's and cis women regurgitating loud, wrong and patently false commentary about trans women, and then crying white women's tears when they get called on their crap.

Trans women didn't come up with the term TERF. It was their fellow radical feminists who were appalled at being conflated with them who did so..

There can't be and will not be any peace until the TERF's unilaterally stop demonizing us in the media, oppressing trans women, attacking trans kids, attacking their parents, and colluding with conservative legislators to push anti-trans legislation and policies .

Those conditions are non negotiable

Some corrections necessary in this story and the quotes attributed to me..

*HERO passed Houston City Council by an 11-6 vote on May 28, 2014. It was repealed by a November 2015 referendum vote.

*I did not witness the events at the Gaslight club. I was relaying to the panel audience what was reported in the news stories about the discriminatory behavior and what I was told by victims of the Gaslight discrimination.

The story I personally witnessed and told during the panel was when I went to a Houston area Denny's near the Astrodome in 1984 and the manager tried to charge me and several friends a cover charge to get in.

As an advocate who also is a blogger, in a world in which political media publishes and refuses to call out lies and misinformation, accuracy in a media story is important and matters to me. I would deeply appreciate it if the Daily Cougar story was corrected to reflect what I ACTUALLY said in that panel discussion.
