Proper ergonomics is a must for prevention from long-term repetitive-task injury. A touch pad turns your wrists unnaturally inward and will eventually cause carpal-tunnel syndrome. Most people plop a laptop on any flat surface that is usually the wrong height for viewing and hand placement which will eventually cause neck or shoulder strain.

Back in the day, office furniture designers adhered to these standards but laptops plopped anywhere go completely against them. Plus, bring your own laptop and any old flat surface are much cheaper to provide than proper office furniture for today's profit-centric business owners.

Re: NY Congresswoman Gets Death Threat Following D.C. There's no excuse for this shite you kiddiots. Knock it off with the avocado toast and spend a few minutes with your damn alarm clock every now and then. My 15 y/o Phillips stereo/CD//MP3/AM/FM ($22 on eBay) has dual alarms and daily setting capability. Just keep a 9v battery in it and it will retain settings even after a NY-style black-out. While you're at it, get offa' my lawn.
