It isn’t THAT difficult to upgrade RAM on an old G4 iBook.

Depending on what model G4 iBook you have - you can buy the RAM here:
http://www.18004memory.com/...

You can check on the GHz by clicking the Apple in the upper left corner of your screen and going to "About This Mac"

Then based on that, I'd recommend ordering a 512mb chip or a 1GB chip and installing it yourself. I know its kinda technical, but they make it so that you can't do much damage.

That said... its a LOT easier on newer Macs these days ;-)
