Suicides caused by guns are indeed deaths caused by guns, and people shooting themselves in the head is indeed an act of "violence." There's a reason that people try to remove any access to guns from suicidal people. The more readily available a gun is to a suicidal person, the more likely they are to use it to impulsively kill themselves.

Don't believe me that this story is false? Well, go take a look at Obama's latest proclamation for yourself -- he proclaimed Feb. 2016 to be "African American History Month."

This story is FALSE. Every Obama proclamation also called it "African American History Month."

It is a tradition for every president to put out proclamations like this every year. The one pictured above is just like those issued by Obama and past presidents. Trump did NOT change the name.

The evidence is entirely circumstantial, and should never have been enough to sentence a man to death. And the most damning evidence seems very fishy to me. I'm skeptical, for example, that a witness realy saw the defendant following the man's cart "with a rock in his hand." That sounds too conveniently incriminating, as well as illogical. If you were going to kill a man with a rock in order o steal his money, would you really just follow his cart down the road holding a rock? Woudln't you instead grab a rock at the spot you planned to perform the murder, and hide? The only other significant evidence cited, "spots of fresh blood" on the clothes in his house, sounds very fishy too. Like a man who just bludgeouned sombody to death would leave blood-spattered clothes just lying around in his house to be found later? He wouldn't have washed them? This sounds very much to me like the black guy got railroaded into a false conviction because they needed a confiction (a long Texas tradition, it seems).

The author was being ironic. He never actually claimed Cruz used that exact phrase -- Hurst used that phrase to mock Cruz's ignorance, exhibited by what he DID say: Cruz referred to "Jewish churches" -- but the Jewish faith actually has synagogues, not churches.

It's kind of hard to explain stuff like this to people who don't understand irony. You either get it or you don't.

Companies will always try to lower their tax rate any way they can, REGARDLESS of how high the current rate is. That's just business. So lowering taxes won't help this problem. Closing this stupid "inversion" tax loophole will.

And you should also see a lower murder rate in states that have the death penalty, and a higher rate in states that don't. But that's not the case. Some states with no death penalty have low murder rates, while others that do have the death penalty (e.g. texas) have high murder rates.

Of course, you're using the term "gang bangers" is a euphemism for black people. (Otherwise, why else use that peculiarly specific phrase? Why not just say "criminals" or people"?)

So, I have to ask: Why do you limit the death-deserving people who "shoot innocent people" only to "gang bangers" (i.e., black people)? Shouldn't white people die when they shoot innocent people too?

Why did it take FOUR HOURS for them to do a blood test on this guy? If his BAC was at 0.79 a whole four hours later, he must have been REALLY drunk when he fired the gun. They don't wait four hours to check your blood alcohol after DUI stops, that's for sure.

Some kids are physically much larger and stronger than other kids. And not everyone can be skilled at fighting, no matter how many coaching tips they get (e.g., from Dad). Like anything, some people are good at fighting and some aren't. So your solution won't work for a lot of kids. They will always be bullied by kids who are bigger and better at fighting. The point is, physical assault is not a good way to solve problems or assert superiority -- kids need to be taught that lesson. When an adault physically assaults another adult, we call that a crime and put them in jail. So why is that we expect children to be routinely physically assaulted as something "normal," when we won't stand for that behavior for adults?

You do realize that most women in the world don't choose their circumstances in life? The majority of people on this earth either don't have a lot of money or are downright impoverished. For them, working isn't a "choice" -- it's what they have to do to put food in their mouths. You seem to have written this piece based on the assumption that ALL women are affluent and can "choose" whether to work, stay home with kids, etc., as part of their "lifestyle." No offense, but I think you need to grow up and learn a little about the world around you before you write any more articles like this.
