Watching Paul McCartney's first song last night, I had this melancholy feeling of the end of an era - probably his last time performing on SNL, maybe Lorne's last season helming the show, maybe the end of a long weekend update run by Jost and Che...I felt like last night might have been a really memorable show to see in person because who knows what the future holds for SNL.

Unfortunately, tRump is pure teflon. He is so slimey nothing sticks to him, and he has an endless supply of sycophantic fools waiting in line to take the fall for him.

Expecting the Democrats to finally nail tRump is like watching the entire collection of Roadrunner cartoons and always thinking that each episode is the one where Wil. E. Coyote will finally catch him.

What is Coach K in his first 5 years at Army, then his first 5 at Duke. There’s a chance I made a math error, but 28 games would be about normal back then for a team that didn’t get into the tournament, wouldn’t it?

I hear what you are saying, but for purposes of healthy discussion, I also remember a coach who posted a pedestrian record of 16-12 in his first 10 years as a head coach - and that was leading one program who had previously been coached by a legend and another that had recently been to the final four.
Then things started to click and he became the winningest coach in S1 history.

I remember another guy that IU regularly handled in the B10, who moved out west and had a pretty strong record in the PAC-10 I closing winning a Natty.

Not advocating for Brownell. Just saying, circumstances matter - and coaches can learn, figure it out and trend upwards. I can’t tell you how many times in my executive career I have seen leaders who were absolute rock stars in one role then average in another. Ya just never know sometimes!

But that’s not the point.

He made a statement in one breath that was intended to make it LOOK like he took full responsibility and was taking the heat for his players - then in the very next breath he proceeded to throw them under the bus. He’s incredibly disingenuous, and that goes right to the core of his integrity.

Either have the guts to call them out for their poor performance, or be willing to take the blame for a) the lazy roster construction, b) the lousy strategy and outdated tactics, c) the inability to mold the team into a cohesive unit, d) the ineffective coaching and poor leadership in getting them to play hard on a consistent basis, and e) the unwillingness to listen to advice, data, and results and adjust the approach when it is clearly not working. That’s why he has tarnished his reputation as an all time Hoosier great.

As far as not previously mentioning it, I just didn’t feel like I should be making that observation while the season was still in play and I assumed KL was 100% engaged in trying to help the team get into the big dance.
