Just saying, circumstances matter - and coaches can learn, figure it out and trend upwards. I can’t tell you how many times in my executive career I have seen leaders who were absolute rock stars in one role then average in another. Ya just never know sometimes!

Re: Mike Woodson releases statement expressing gratitude for opportunity to coach IU basketball

Change the word “journey” into “jerk” and his statement becomes a lot more accurate.

Re: Mike Woodson still struggling to explain IU’s late-game woes: ‘I wish I had the answer’

I’ll never put it on the player. He’s incredibly disingenuous, and that goes right to the core of his integrity.

Either have the guts to call them out for their poor performance, or be willing to take the blame for a) the lazy roster construction, b) the lousy strategy and outdated tactics, c) the inability to mold the team into a cohesive unit, d) the ineffective coaching and poor leadership in getting them to play hard on a consistent basis, and e) the unwillingness to listen to advice, data, and results and adjust the approach when it is clearly not working. That’s why he has tarnished his reputation as an all time Hoosier great.

Re: IU and Woodson waste another opportunity to revive a season on life support

“I’ll never put it on the player.
