Agree. Leaving the hotel or home a bit earlier than needed gives you the heavy traffic, flat tire, TSA issues, wiggle room and the like. After doing a bit of exploring and deciding I don't need the way overpriced thing or meal, I just find something in a corner near the gate and fire up Netflix on the laptop or phone.

While no one wants anyone to die, I find it of interest that this intersection has traffic controls for both vehicles and pedestrians. It also has street lights (although at 7 AM this morning, it was clear and sunny outside).

What exactly else can The City do?

What does the fact that there is a off ramp two blocks away have to do with the accident? The highway does not "run through" this area.

I have a Border Collie / Australian Sherperd mix that just turned two. He is VERY active and goes on runs with me three days a week anywhere from 4 to 8 miles each time. I have used other harnesses in the past and have returned them. They either rubbed / chafed my dog's inner legs in the chest area or rotated so much when he pulled that it was very little help in getting him to not pull so much when we go out for a run.

With all the miles we have put in since getting the Haedlight Harness, my dog has not had any chaffing or rubbing sores and he is learning to not pull as much.

I also like that the battery is a nine volt rather than some small watch type. I also put a couple of doggie bags in the zippered compartment where the battery is.

If there is a complaint, it would be that I would like to see some videos of actual dogs being fitted and also some suggestions for making sure the fit is correct. There is a fine line between being too loose and the harness rotating when he pulls to have it too tight. Just saying that there should be a "two finger" gap is not sufficient.

Agree with many of the other replies here. Gaffer's tape is great but it CAN pull paint and so on if not treated correctly. Also, there are many types and brands that have different characteristics. Gaffer's tape is NOT what is used in NASCAR. They use a duct tape type material.

Too bad this poster was not vetted better.

While I do not necessarily agree with the lawsuit, This is NOT a SF issue. It is a national issue. Please research how many countries use cash bail.

I lay this staffing issue squarely at the foot of the mayor's office. While Mirkarimi was Sheriff, the mayor's office did not allow the Sheriff's Department to do any hiring.

I will attest to the awesomeness of this tool. We use one to transfer homemade pasta sauce from a pot into the jars and it has made life so much easier.

Something tells me that the argument, "I’m sorry, but you’ve committed a violation of our terms of service agreement so we are not liable." is not going to fly in court. By that reasoning, if you get on a bus but don't pay your fare, Muni could say that since you were on the bus illegally, there are not liable for injuries sustained in a crash.

I fail to see the need to dedicated bike lanes in directions that are downhill. Any bicyclists, including me, can easily keep up with the flow of traffic when there is the slightest downhill slope.

Actually, when you think about it, the cast was most likely very little. The cops and fire fighters were already on duty. It isn't like they brought in people on overtime. So, except for the fuel to respond, the other "costs" would have been in place anyway.

Three cars trans are not a new thing. They used to run three car trains but if memory serves me correctly, they stopped the practice because the brakes on the third train would not always release and it ended up getting dragged along from time to time. This caused the wheels to get flat spots and you could actually hear the flat spots hitting the rail.

The problem with this is that it most likely thinks that bridges with tolls are toll roads. Once I had Waze set to avoid toll roads and it wanted to send me about 40 miles out of my way rather than zip across a bridge to get from San Francisco to Sacramento.

It is not the Amazon effect, it is the big retailer effect. Same thing happened to many small drug stores, grocery stores and bakeries when the big retailers came in.

I used to work for Southern Pacific Railroad and traveled around the western US inspecting track and other structures. We had a route that we followed and quite often stayed at the same places. Your comment about feeding at the happy hour trough reminded me of a contest a buddy and I had once.

Part of our criteria of where we would stay would be knowing what staff would upgrade our rooms. Another set of criteria was who had the best complimentary breakfasts and/or happy hours.

One week (Sunday night to Friday afternoon), we decided to see who could spend the least amount of money on food by hitting all the free breakfasts and happy hours. Having no shame, I didn't even buy a drink all week and spent only 25 cents all week. The 25 cents was for a pack of gum (this was around 1994).
