I love that the Ausdom is competitive in pricing with the A118-c but with the flaws listed, and the fact that it is a battery and not capacitor powered camera, maybe I'll continue to be patient and wait for the next series of reviews and next generation of dash cams. The price and video quality is to die for but the other features really turn me off. Hopefully that Xiaomi Yi review comes soon and will be my savior, but I'm pessimistic at some of these chinese brands.

Best case scenario is a decent build quality, cheap, and nice quality of video such as the Ausdom, with an A118's build quality. Maybe that's asking for the cake and to eat it too though.

As a Cupertino resident who faced a similar article (albeit about a less sensitive topic) back in 2005 on the WSJ, when I was but a HS student in the area at the time, I do know how you're feeling, and you're missing the point.

Palo Alto residents will look back at this in 10 years like I do about that article, and see that the eyes were aimed in the wrong way.

You'll look back in 5 years at this article and think to yourself how short sighted this comment will look in retrospect. It was the same reaction that Cupertino residents had to the "White Flight" article on the WSJ many years ago. The core point may look different to you as a "recent Gunn graduate" but to others, especially those NOT from Gunn who have faced similar scenarios, you are entirely aiming at points that nobody else is targetting.

I grew up nearby Palo Alto and in schools similar/identical to these in the story.

I was sent to a private boarding prep school in the East Coast, and the two smartest and most respected teachers I had there told me that it didn't matter what school I went to. I scoffed at the idea, thought it was ridiculous, the way I was raised that comment couldn't have been further from the truth, in my mind.

A friend of mine in HS got into every school imaginable, H.Y.P, JHU, Penn, Duke, Berkeley, Stanford. He was debating between Stanford Princeton and Harvard, and we asked our favorite teacher what his opinion was. He was a Stanford Alum, had a daughter who went to Berkeley, and now taught in the Princeton area. He said he'd tell the student to go to Berkeley, which again, baffled us.

Now, 7-8 years after those conversations with those HS teachers of mine, I recognize how foolish and wrong I was. And how absolutely correct they were, even though my mind couldn't comprehend how those statements could have even 1% truth behind them, back then. I even approached my mom about it recently, and 10 years ago she'd say those teachers were insane. And today, she has made that same realization and turn around too.

You aren't kidding when you say its the dirty little secret that nobody wants you to know. When I meet kids applying to colleges, I tell them the same and they have the same reaction I would have had 10 years ago.

I think he could have been considered one of the greatest ILB's of all time with a lengthier career or a ring. Sadly he'll be considered an all-time Great for us fans of this 2005-2014 era. But he'll be a local legend and the rest of the world will pretty quickly forget him, what a shame.

I wonder how this will emotionally effect Bowman, who will now likely play alongside Borland which isn't an issue, those are two great players, but will Bowman possibly shorten his career length? Or join another team in FA? Now that the man he calls his brother has called it quits early?

Sounds to me like York realized DLine straight to HC would ruin his credibility, so he wanted a scapegoat to be placeholder while Tomsula played DC until he could be HC. WhenNOBODY in the NFL would play stupid for York, he has no choice but to ruin a bit of credibility rather than keep pursuing people he think could be stupid enough to take the job

18m+ a year for 5 years, for a guy who has had 2 or 3 healthy seasons, 15-18 HR, 75 RBI, .280 AVG, and .700-.750 OPS. Just shoot me now...

Even worse, he was IN THE BIKE LANE. How can the driver be so clueless? If it was the cement rig, he'd surely have driven in the area before. There are school crossing signs everywhere. There are 3 major schools probably with a population of 3000 total students in that single block, how can he be so unaware as to be driving in the bike lane at that hour. What awful news to read.

You compared Dota2's daily peak numbers (850k) to LoL's daily total number (27.5m) when the more apt comparison is LoL's daily peak which is 7.5m. Quite a big difference of over 250%.

Sharks fans and management are too obsessed with blowing things up. This team will not get better by removing it's talent, just because some people want to blame it on a "choke" job vs the best goalie on earth, that is now about to win another Cup single-handedly.

The more talented team doesn't always win, and quite frankly, the players on the ice aren't the problem, neither is the coach. Mclellan is one of the best in the business.

The one part that has been a part of all these failures is only one man. Doug Wilson. But he won't fire himself.

This is massively sad news all around. I can't think of anyone with a reasonable mind that has any reason or ability to root against Fear, for not just his skill and leadership, but who he is as a person and member of this community.

I can't imagine Valve would punish EG in any way, considering Mason has been playing with this team, helping them place extremely well in tournaments, since prior to, and during the invitation process. Many argued that Mason should have been the one invited in the first place. This all makes sense and boy...you would hate to see this injury truly have a large effect on Fear's long term career going forward.

If he gained about 25-30 pounds he would be the same size as Draymond Green, who doesn't have much of an offensive game except for open 3's, getting to the foul line, and extremely hard nosed defense that can defend all 5 positions.

I highly disagree with this MT2. He was no architect. He made no decision on the moves to bring the players that came in. He didn't craft this defense, Lacob and Myers crafted it by bringing in Bogut, Andre Iguodala, and Klay. Mark Jackson did none of that. Bogut was already an elite defender before coming here, Mark didn't craft him. Andre Iguodala was an Olympian because of his defense, Mark didn't craft him. Don't pump MJ up to more than he is. A coach that took one of the most talented rosters in the NBA, and took them to a 2nd, then a 1st round playoff exit. A coach who can't develop young players at all (and before we say Draymond Green, he was a 4 year player at MSU. Klay was a 3 year star in the Pac-12), Barnes, the one truly young player, has regressed hard, especially this season due to MJ's lack of recognizing that Barnes is a finisher around good players, not a starter around bad ones.

Right, that is literally the only destination that might attract him, but the only reason he'd leave to go back is if we start tanking, or Charlotte becomes a powerhouse contender. Nobody leaves contenders for worse teams that can't pay as much money. Nobody.

Part of me REALLY can't see Steph Curry leaving the Warriors, and a franchise max contract, just because they get rid of Jackson. I just don't see it happening, since Steph is more of a family man, I don't think he'd relocate his at-that-point 5 year old daughter. The only way he would leave is if things go badly South, and it's not like Jackson set the bar horrifically high, one 2nd round, one 1st round. If they fire him, the Warriors would have to miss the playoffs two straight years, for Curry to want to leave. I just don't see it.
