Perhaps you misunderstand my point. I am all for Linux and think it's the way things should go (open source) but for those of us that have neither the time, training nor inclination to go down that road, and are happy to use the OS that comes with their computer, I have no sympathy for the Windows complainers. I am simply quoting Xymphs stupid statement from a few days ago, saying Apple is for 10 year olds and Linux is for nerds. so while we nerds and ten year olds get on with life and have a positive and porductinve impact on the world, the Windows slaves slave away. Not for me, sir.

I don't know if you're Canadian or not, but last time I checked, the Feds don't "foot the bill" that the provinces come up with. The Federal government collects taxes, returns a proportional amount of that money to the Provinces to be used for health care purposes. The Provinces decide how much of the transfer payments to use for health care.

Single payer means that every doctor that I saw recently for my colon cancer treatment, from the emergency doctor to my surgeon and oncologist, bill the province for their time. All other', including nurses and technicians are either hourly or on salary, and are unionised, but still paid by the province.

Details are important in such a vital issue.

Thanks for all the well-swishes, everyone! I'm resting, eating, and researching.

I think I can speak on behalf of most Canadians when we look south. The reaction is a mixture of head-shaking amazement and heart-break. To know that it is possible, easily, to cover everyone, and to see the system hijacked and run by greed, well, I despair. I really hope that sanity and compassion prevail. I wish you all a worry-free state of health in the future.

My point was that if you want to put forth an argument of manipulation and possible murder, you need a far less impeachable source than the pathetic and neurotic greedy and needy inside family members. Xymph usually does a better job than that, and I called it as I saw it. And, really, did you find that story interesting? You need to cast your net a little wider, mate. That story was stale before it was baked.

As for the cash and jewels, I don't suppose it occurred to her that he was leaving for London in a few day's time and he had probably made arrangements to have the valuables dealt with while his staff packed up his clothes.
