The consequences of such an action against the U.S. would have set us back 30 or more years, but it would have been a worthy set back as it would have made the case for reparations even greater! In other words, you wouldn’t have Whites scoffing at us like they are now because of the gains we have made without reparations today for past transgressions of yesterday! Are you feeling me now?

Instead, our people chose to fight for Uncle Sam in all major wars and conflicts for over a century, even in some instances, against native Americans - which you knew about presumably. Yes, African Americans also killed native Americans, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Germans in the name of freedom and equality; all so that they could be counted as worthy of respect and acceptable Americans in the eyes of Whites! It is a sickness my friend. And it’s called appeasement and compromise ideal. In contrast, Ghandi’s people assisted its former colonizer in wars, but his people never took up Arms against his colonizers enemies. Instead, they volunteered to work as medics and errand boys, not killers like African Americans did. “ I am oppressed, so let me oppress some other poor country!”

This is a fact my friend and it is irrefutable by anybody on this board or in any academic setting.

Black Culture is a hodgepodge of many cultures, like many other cultures and civilizations. We all share traits and cultural similarities with each other.
There is no Black Culture because we are a diverse people amongst our own people. However, we have created a pseudo culture based off of our musical tapestry. Jazz, blues, rock music, rap, and so on. Our music has spurred gang cultures that have spread all over the world. Have you ever heard of the Amsterdam Crips!? Our violence and demonization of our own women is our cultural legacy now. Jazz and Blues are for old people. Snoop Dog and Dre. have shunned these fake gangs publicly! But no matter what they say or do the gang cultures in these countries are spurred by West Coast Rap, and that cannot be argued against. All of these fake crips love Snoop and Dre, they idolize them. That is black culture. Long gone are the days of Kwanza and other African American inspired cultural observations. Nobody cares. The average black could care less when MLK’s birthday is. What black culture? Africa has culture but it too is dying in the
whirlpool of capitalism and conspicuous consumption. Educated Africans are escaping to Europe and to North America to flee their homelands in search of a better life and a white wife. Obama is the best example of this. Jungle fever ridden alcoholics never had it so good until their got a white woman pregnant.

Re: America's Moral Debt to African Americans

Semantics is your forte!

Jews or Isreal. You knew exactly what was inferred. Black Americans have no culture, this is why they look to Africa - maybe a sub-culture. And it’s true. The issue of reparations was forfeited because of MLK, and it is not an assumption. Had he gone to the United Nations to sue the U.S. government for slavery and false promises this would have laid the grown work for reparations 50 years ago. Instead, he went to Kennedy to push for equality and universal suffrage so that Blacks could be recognized as Americans with the same rights as whites. This is forfeiter of reparations. This was the trade off, sir! Ask any academic.

During reconstruction the government reneged on its promise of 40 acres and a mule, remember? This was an experiment in reparations, sir, and it failed. When Blacks were returned to Africa ( Liberia ) this too was an experiment in reparations and it failed, sir. Reperations failed because Blacks relied on American politicians to resolve their problems. The case for reparations should have went to the United Nations in order to bring international condemnation upon the United States. This would have set us back another 50 years, but it would have been a worthy set back! It would have help solidify our divisions. Black Christians and Black Academics rarely saw eye-to-eye, even today.

Your other points are mute. Black culture in America exploits Blacks. That’s if you can call that culture.

Re: America's Moral Debt to African Americans

The topic at hand here is reparations and whether the descendants of African American slaves deserve it.
My answer is “no.” You were not affected by the institution of slavery. You were born a free man. Had your
great great grandmother were still alive then I would say “yes” to reparations 100% without a doubt. And to
equate yourself to Asians and Jews is wrong. The Jews prosecuted Germany for the holocaust because they
had the economic ability to do so, and with the full backing of the international community. African Americans
like MLK didn’t press Kennedy for reparations, but rather equal rights and recognition as Americans, and the right
to vote. Basically, MLK had a “ let bygones be bygone” and let’s all get along mentality that went against a lot
of Black progressives at that time. So in a sense he forfeited reparations in exchange for so-called equal rights.
In fact, MLK bankrupted the Civil Rights movement. Instead, had Martin Luther King petitioned the United Nations fifty years ago, instead of
running to Kennedy to solve the “Black problem” in America, and had he bought up the issue if reparations before the world instead of equal rights to Kennedy, then we would have had reasonable grounds for demanding reparations today. Chew on that Einstein.

The Jews never screamed for equal rights and to be accepted into German society. Not even when they were living in Egypt did they demand equal rights from the pharaohs. Why? They are their own people!

Asians were granted reparations, namely Japanese, for being in internment camps. The U.S. government rightly paid them what was owed to them and their children.
They do not receive reparations today and neither do they demand it, yet you need reparations. How old are you? 15?

Re: America's Moral Debt to African Americans

African culture has been superseded by Western decadence. The culture you mention is dying and is no longer relevant to the younger generation of South African. And please do not put words in my mouth. Reparations is a hand out. You are no more African than Bill Clinton, just accept that you are 100% American. The only thing that is African about you is your pride.

Re: America's Moral Debt to African Americans

{So Asian-Americans who assimilate to America have culture, even
thought it was in their past, but black Americans that assimilated to America don’t have culture, even though it was in their past, okay got it. }

Correct. Many Asian Americans have retained their native tongue and through their language they have transmitted their culture. African Americans were regarded as chattel for centuries having lost their language, religion, culture, and identity. You were crossbred with other tribes people and ethnicities. I saw crossbred because again, you were referred to as chattel.

{So you repeat that black culture is dead, and think I’m a black eccentric.]

Yes you are.

[And now you think you are qualified to think for other Africans? ]

Yes. I am.

[So in your mind South Africa is not proud of ending apartheid and having a black President? ]

Who accepted the Noble Peace Prize alongside DeClerk a staunch supporter of the Aparthied regime! He should have denounced the prize rather than receive it alongside such a man. That’s if he were proud!

[You think Africans want black American prosperity? ]

Yes! That’s why sales of rap music, clothes, and other negro(phenalia) has surged in recent years; they want to be like Black Americans.

Who said Africans cared about what happened 346 years ago?

I said it.

This is not about what
they think or feel.

It is about what I think and feel.

If they teach their kids French and English, seems they prepare them for Europe and not America, but you can live your pipe dream sin ce there’s no culture anywhere in Africa that isn’t dead (what a real genius you are).

Yep. I am a genius.

So the culture in South Africa is dead?

Yes it is.

So Victoria Seychelles is not one of the richest cities in the world?

Who cares? Most African Americans probably could care less.

So the oil wealth in Malabo, Guinea has killed their culture?

Didn’t know, and it means absolutely nothing.

So oil and timber revenues have killed the culture of Libreville, Gabon?

Yes.

So tourism has killed the culture of Gaborone, Botswana?

Yes. It has. Money kills primitive cultures and gives birth to Western culture.

Having the highest GDP on the planet killed the culture of South Africa?

Of which you and the other millions of displaced Africans are not the benefactors.

And I suppose oil ruined the culture of Libya, Tunisia and Algeria, and of course anyone thinking the
culture of Egypt is dead, only need look out at the pyramids.

Good tourism dollars.

So now you believe there is a corporate and music culture that rule the world, but that no African nation has any corporate or musical cult ure. I’m not sure you are sane enough to finish this conversation at this point.

Your culture is dead, and as American soft power continues to spread throughout the world you too will be whistling dixie.

You would lose that bet – I’ve lived in Germany, Belgium, France, England and Holland.

Eccentric.

So with that being said and you being wrong about everything you have written so far, why would anyone think you sane?

What is normal?

Nike pays athletes to sell shoes. That you would call them moguls suggests they were really good athletes, but nothing more than pitch men or women. I think it pretty racist to think that Koreans own and run the black hair industry. Korean hair and black hair are similar and even if this were true, so what?

Are you sane? What do you mean “ so what?”

I’m pretty sure I mentioned Africa “was” a power from 935 – 1700’s, but to think me a buffoon (learn to spell genius) for looking at their culture and rich history suggests the only ignorance is what you spew.

African culture is dead as you say. Africa is not a power.

I’m wearing loafers today, and maybe Stacy’s tomorrow, but you wear your ignorance constantly. You tear down African culture to say that black Americans should not get reparations for the slavery their ancestors endured? It's okay that America pays reparations to other groups it has wronged, but your panties are in a bunch just over black American reparations, right Mr. Self-Loather?

Re:

Blacks in America are making progress in areas unimaginable! Those like yourself who loath in self pity never seem to get it, do you? Racism is not an American problem, it's a world problem, but to use America as an example, especially with what I mentioned above, and all the rich and successful Blacks who are making it, is wholly unfair. Having a Black president means a whole hell of a lot more than all the hate you have been spewing on this board. The world was blown away by his election. Had MLK lived to see the day a black man would assume the most powerful position of influence in the world is unthinkable. Black eccentrics like yourself always relish in the past about how great your people used to be when nobody cares, not even in Africa. In reality, it’s the Africans in Africa who want your prosperity, women, and education in America. They never carry-on like you do about the glory days of their past when the present is so full of opportunities. ALL Africans want your prosperity and freedom. They want your iPhones and tablets. They want your houses. They care nothing about what happened 300 years ago. In fact, the diaspora is full of Africans who are chasing the white man’s dream, even forsaking their motherland in Africa. They too teach their children French and English.

Culture as you identify with is dead. It’s all about the corporate culture and the music culture that rules the world. You talk as if you benefited from the prosperity of the Afro-Arabs and the rich kings of Africa. You, sir, were no beneficiary then and now, so walk away from this argument. Africans care nothing about your loss of culture, language, nor identity. You are American 100%! Your blood type is U - S - and A.

I bet you never lived overseas before, have you? You know that all African Americans suffer depression when they go one week without having McDonalds? Their tongues are conditioned to only eat American food and going a week without it will send them into cold turkey. Black American are very peculiar people because they are thoroughly confused about where they belong. Black people look at other people cultures with indifference! They think their American food, language, and so-called culture is better than any other country in the world! They are like chattel! Nike pays black moguls to make and sell their products to millions of blacks all over the world. Koreans own and run the black hair care industry and make billions of dollars a year! They do not hire black people to run these stores. They peddle booze in the most crime infested ghettos of America, and what do you do, you patronize them. You are the biggest baffoon of all, man! You talk about the glory of Africa, when other races are making billions of dollars off of your people still today, and for FREE! What kind of shoes are you wearing? Free advertising.

You talk of reparations !? For what!? You teach your children the English language, and their children the same language, presumably.

The "we were forced to learn English" card is dead.

I'm sure by looking in the mirror you can determine the exact percentage of how much white is in you.

Jesus was a Jew.

Your African culture is actually many diverse cultures, languages, religions, and ethnicities. Africa is a continent comprising many countries, not a village. An Ethiopian is an Ethiopian regardless of whether Ethiopia is on the continent of Africa. I'm sure some ancient text told you otherwise, and I am sure no Jewish Rabbi or Anglo Christian would agree that Jesus was African, not that it actually matters.

Re: America's Moral Debt to African Americans

Gloat in self-pity is when you claim reparations in a country where the president is Black, Black attorney General, and slew of Black congressmen and women in a country where 60% of the culture is white! In a country where money is largely controlled by whites. In a country that makes up 25% of the worlds population, Blacks make up 13% of the U.S. population, and controlling 75% of the worlds wealth, yet the most important political figures are African American. Even during the Bush Administration had Black heavy weights. It was Collin Powell that took us to war, not George Bush, refute that, not that it matters. Blacks laugh in white peoples faces while relishing in their prosperity.

The Chinese, Jews, and Indians get reparations except me. Our people don't get a payday because we our victims no longer applies.

Re: America's Moral Debt to African Americans

You were taught the English language, and this, presumably, is the only language you speak - not that it matters. Your mother tongue is English as it was the language of your fore bearers. Your name, not that it matters, is derived from the English language, as well as your education, sense of values and moral conviction. Your Jesus is white too, presumably.

Africa is a continent where many languages are spoken, yet you choose to speak the English language and to live in the U.S.A. Therefore you were never robbed, since you chose to keep the English language and way of life as a means of survival. You didn't return to Africa in search of your roots, instead you simply chose to gloat in self-pity because you cannot trace your roots and the origins of your people. This is near to impossible because you may have more white blood in you than you may or may not be aware of, or something else. Plus African Americans were not issued birth certificates until after 1923 ( vaguely remember the exact date). No records exist.
