At a recent service at church, there was someone new that I didn't know. At the time we greet everyone, I said hi and introduced myself, but it was very superficial. I figured she knew someone there - maybe the pastor. After the service was over she just kinda faded out to the exit fairly quickly, and I never really started a meaningful conversation. Why? Because I had the false assumption that she was there with someone else or knew someone else there. Why should that make a difference in ME getting to know her??

She hasn't been back since, and maybe never will be. There's a nagging in the back of my mind that wonders if it would have been different if I, if we, had stepped out and started to know her. I've gotta trust that God uses even the mistakes for His purpose though. And maybe she was sent to train me, as these people were to you.
