The council would probably consider it criminal damage to the public highway. Quite a risk for soemthing that you'd probably not be able to use most of the time, as it wouldn;t be an allocated parking space.

Re: EV chargers outnumber gas stations for the first time in the UK

In the UK utilities have specific rules and permissions for this. The chance of a council allowing you to put in your own charging point on the public highway is basically zero. That's leaving aside the fact that parking spaces aren't reserved, so you wouldn;t even know that you'd be able to park there.

Re: EV chargers outnumber gas stations for the first time in the UK

This is what a normal residential city street looks like in much of the UK: https://goo.gl/maps/Ee5vRvz...
There's no way of running a cable to your car. You're lucky if you're even able to park outside your own house, and even if you were, you can't run a cable across the pavement (sidewalk).
I've lived in streets like these most of my life. Even now I live in a more rural area with no pavements I don't have off-street parking.

Re: EV chargers outnumber gas stations for the first time in the UK

Why would he mean the AAA when he's talking about the EU?

Re: EV chargers outnumber gas stations for the first time in the UK

I don't know about the US, but in the UK at least you don't own the sidewalk outside your home. Did you set the subdomain properly in the code? Is it giving you an error, or is it not showing at all? I'd check the domain settings on Disqus, and also check with dev tools to see if it's loading the DIsqus js file.

Re: Add Disqus comments to a Gatsby blog

It works!

Re: Rihanna posts photoshopped photos of Queen Elizabeth II, causes backlash from fans

It certainly isn't.

Re: Tips For Building Cordova Apps On Android

Hi! I left well before any of this, for personal reasons unrelated to the project. It certainly wasn't because I thought Ada was unviable. I still believe the Ada product is great, and I'm gutted that I won't be able to buy one. As for my Kickstarter: the Vela flash is already in production.

Re: Amazon Challenges Its Own Merchants With New Line Of Baby Products

They've sold lots of things under the "Amazon Basics" brand for a while now. That's because I'm in the UK, which has very strict firearms laws which make it very hard for me to get hold of real guns. However the flash is certainly fast enough to capture even 3200fps bullets. The flash duration is around 500ns, during which time a 3200fps bullet would travel about half a millimetre.

Re: The Vela One is 100x Faster than Conventional Strobes, Can Stop a Bullet In Its Tracks

I get why people want it.
