I am messing around to see what it will recognize.

Re: Redesigning A User Interface In The Open

Great consumer electronics products are usually *not* the result of a democratic process but rather the singular vision of one or a few people e.g. jobs & apple, slingbox & krikorian brothers. The same is often true for software as well. So while I think transparency is good here, I am not sure that a process that takes 1000s of people's input will lead to a better buglabs product. Also is buglabs really hoping that people will actually turn the modules themselves into end-products. It seems like those products are always going to be bigger and clunkier than a single purpose built design. I thought buglabs business model was to create an easy prototyping environment and charge for the software. So why spend a bunch of money on the design on the hardware prototyping? Not sure I get it but I could be confused about the business model.

Re: Giovani Dos Santos vs Jozy Altidore - let’s make a deal

I agree that the jury is still out on Giovani and you make a great point
about going to Barca being a bad choice. However, he still was in the lineup
or on the bench 38 times. It's incredibly hard to get into that lineup.
Pretty much the whole Barca team underperformed this year so him not doing
exceptionally well there is not necessarily a good yardstick. Jozy has so
far played in the MLS vs a a guy that has underperformed at Barca but still
spent a year there which has a lot of value Jozy will have a lot of learning
to do when he goes to Villareal. In fact he stated that he prefers to be
loaned out which is smart. However, it also indicates that he is not ready
to compete for a starting spot at Villareal. If Barcelona did not think
Giovani could compete for starting spot they likely would have lent him out
as well. But they did believe that he could. I hope I am wrong though and
Jozy proves to be the real deal in La Liga. And I hope Tottenham continue to
underperform. Now Vela at Arsenal. That's the real deal. Go gunners!

Re: Rob Go's Tumblelog

It's cool device for sure. I agree that if you do a lot of typing (eg email) that you most likely want a BB. The typing input is still the achilles heel of this device. But I will most likely get one anyway. I have some ideas for cool GPS apps and I really think this device will put the hurt on the Garmins of this world.

Re: Fred Wilson Dot VC

You can twit me at matsm if you have problems.

Re: Fred Wilson Dot VC

Fred, I posted on your blog today about simplicity in reference to your "convenience beats quality". Anyway, I put together this mac dashboard widget for posting audio (mp3) to your tumblog. You can find it at http://www.tinytechtank.com. It has not been tested a great deal but for me one of the pain points with posting mp3 is navigating the file system to find the file. The widget instead lets you search itunes and select a track, type in your commentary and post. Simpler I think. Let me know what you think.

Re: Seattle Sounders FC in the MLS - US soccer in trouble

Yep. It's going to be awesome. I love the current Sounders and will be a season ticket holder for the new MLS team. In some ways it's a shame that we will lose the small team feel. The kids all know the players from local clubs. It's like a big family.
