Although I'll make this for them when they're home over the holidays. As young adults eating on the run, they can still use the nutrition boost whenever they can get it. And I still won't tell them it has spinach in it. :)

Re: You Know It’s a Weight Loss Scam When…

Love it, Dave. I recently saw a similar thing in an insert in a box of "slimming tea" that someone gave me. The before and after pictures were hilarious (if you can get beyond the fact that some people might be taken in by the claims). They not even close to being the same person. One was Asian and the other was not.

Re: Homemade Gnocchi

I'm sure it was hazelnuts as everything in that area is hazelnut. I think it probably had more cream than butter. So probably uses olive oil as a base. Herbs? I don't know. What herbs do you think would be good with hazelnuts and cream? They really don't use a lot of herbs in their cooking in Emilia Romagna that I can remember, which was always surprising to us. Don't even use garlic.

I hope you do try with the gf flour mix. And let me know!

Re: Homemade Gnocchi

Gnocchi is one my favorite foods of all time. Except now I have to figure out how to make it gluten free. It will be worth the effort! But maybe the only effort will be substituting a different flour in your recipe. Definitely a place to start! I love the brown butter and sage sauce but one of the most memorable ones I had was in Bologna, Italy -- it was with a nut sauce. I still dream of it!

Re: FridgeFridays: Show Us Your Hots

Ok, how did I miss this comment section? Not sure how to post my hot sauce photo of the day (told Maggie I was slow in these things :)), but did post on twitter. Must say that's not a pic of my favorite hot sauce. It's my son's, who likes it as a topping for baked chicken. Couldn't name my favorite right now. We are really into hot food, particularly after the Indian food cooking course I took last year. So right now my favorite thing to heat up our food is the small fresh peppers you buy by the handful at Indian food stores. I buy a bunch, stick them in the freezer whole, and just pull some out when I need them. Even using them these days to make Mexican food. They're so much hotter than jalapenos, which were my usual for Mex.

Re: Easy Fresh Vegetable Soup

Looks very yummy. I think parsnips add so much to a broth. Will try this recipe as I have all ingredients in house. Maybe tonight!

Re: Would Mother Nature Give You a Noogie?

1. I don't unplug my electric appliances when I'm not using them.
2. I throw away too many vegetables (that have rotted in my frig b/c I didn't cook them).
3. I don't always fill my washing machine completely before running it (I do my dishwasher. Oops, maybe I shouldn't even be using the dishwasher?)
4. I could go on but you get the idea.

I am trying, though!

Re: FridgeFridays: What’s in Your Fridge?

This was fun.
