(@ lou) Many do. It just depends on how comfortable you are voiding the warranty on your phone, and whether or not you have the necessary tools and knowledge. The backs are usually pressure fitted on and can be removed with enough determination.

The Nexus 6 is supposed to ship with Lollipop, so there would be no update for those with one.

I'm having a hard time believing these kind of articles... IHS might be able to get quotes for the same parts and be able to estimate the cost per unit, but that doesn't count for any contract agreement MS or Sony have with their manufacturers. Anyone that thinks it's costing these companies to put out these units doesn't have a clue. Everyone along the supply chain is getting their cut in that $399/$499 price tag.

Khadr was given a simple choice: imprisonment for an indefinite amount of time or plead guilty for a shorter sentence... so taking his words as facts for the case is a little silly. At best he made the agreement under duress. It's silly to think that a 15 year old fully understood his actions, given the context of his parents shipping him to Afghanistan. The idea that this kid could come up with $130 million is absolutely ludicrous.

I agree! I think the reason people are bringing as much carry-on bags as they can are the extra fees that AC charges for extra bags and overweight items. It can easily be an extra $120 or more!

I think that's the real reason he was fired. That aside though, the reality of it is if you aren't the boss, you better make sure you don't tick him or her off. The only reason this is news is because Casado had so much air time on American news.

"The can't connect to camera" bug has been around for a while. It seems to occur when an app that uses the camera (like snapchat) fails to close properly. This occurs occasionally on my Nexus, but a reboot seems to fix it. Another theory that I've seen is that it has to do with running your phone in ART instead of the default.

I agree, but it's not just at the K-12 levels. Post-secondary education, whether it be in STEM, Arts, Fine Arts, Trades, Etc., need to be more accessible if BC wants to survive in the long term... placing all the eggs in the resource basket is risky business.

I'm still floored that Ontario has a graduate student funding scholarship that is available to anyone registered at an Ontario university. BC has nothing like this!

Please moderate your comment sections. I think it is great that you want to use Web 2.0 technologies like Wordpress and Facebook to share stories and create discussions about current issues! However, the discussions that occur on either of these sites is neither productive nor informing. They are often outright offensive: "200-1.5 million to treat them... A bullet is only pennies". Moderating comments like this might upset some, alleging that this infringes on their freedom to expression. However, all persons in Canada are only afforded this freedom within reasonable limits. Comments like the one I quoted are far beyond those limits, and don't foster a positive conversation about the issue. Allowing them only gives space for ignorance and hateful, bigoted, expression. Unless that is what your team is aiming for, I would strongly urge that your team put in a plan to moderate comments.

I had my first "real" job with KDN as a carrier through Clearview Distribution. Had both good and bad memories from the job, and certainly helped sow some good work ethic 'seeds'.

Though, like you mention Kris, the article it KTW certainly draws out more of the story. The irony certainly was stark for me. I've always felt that the the Daily wrote better on average too.

As much as I hate "top-10" stories, I would love to see a recount of some of the major stories the paper has published over the last 80 years.

Actually, you are both in error. There is a very vibrant culture of "bikers," who ride motorcycles like Harley Davidsons, or Yamaha Roadsters, or similar bikes. They are generally of a higher socio-economic status (lawyers, docters, retirees with good pensions, etc.... consider how a nice Harley has a pretty high price tag if it's new; cost of insurance as well).

As with any culture, there are identifiers that include and exclude individuals from group membership. One such identifier includes knowing how to ride/handle your bike properly, and another is knowing how to ride your bike responsibly. This is where we find distinctions between bikers and riders.

You'll find a lot of bikers get pretty angry about things like this, because incidents like this feed directly into negative stereotypes about bikers. You're mistaken when you assume the commenter doesn't have empathy for the victims; he or she is concerned about a much bigger group.

I thought the frontier idea made sense, but the 'future is old' rule only works for frontier worlds... remember the ship that Hope started out on? It was white and shiny, not old and broken. I think the key for the original trilogy's success was that it was an underdog story... a David and Goliath story. It was all about not needing the biggest army or the latest technology to win the day... this was the essential appeal for kids and pretty much everyone else. It was the idea that individuals can make a difference. Just my .02 I guess.
