As a result, his words strike right at the reality of his/our experience of faith.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And this Bonhoeffer quote in particular is stunning.  Really.  So much to consider in one paragraph.  "God himself compels us to recognize" that we have to live in the world "even if there were no God."  Who says such a thing?  Yet who among us hasn't wept at the realization of it?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;"The God who lives with us is the God who forsakes us."  What do we do with this?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;All I know to do with it is to grab a beer (or two) and a seat at the bar/couch/computer and deal with it together with good friends.  So, cheers on the new blog, Adam.
