I know about XBRL - but am not an expert. I am really interested in your thoughts on how XBRL potentially impacts the "Super Commons" scenario.

Re: A Future Of On-Line Finance – From Brokers To Blogs To Yahoo

Mark Clare here - I am the CEO of Valuecruncher. I wrote the original post.

George - I agree that we will see much more of companies communicating directly with investors (and potential investors). I think that is a trend and it could certainly be added to the group I have there (or part of the death of tradional equity research trend). I also agree with Zack that this will probably take a while to hit all of the listed companies.

I was trying to keep the list of trends down to a manageable group. It is an interesting observation however. It could certainly be added.

Re: LindzonPalooza Decides to Open to The Public?

Howard

Long-time reader - first comment.

We are based down here in New Zealand. We are looking at being in the US around then.

If this is on - you might get your first New Zealand participants...

Cheers
Mark

Re: Pick Me Video

I can watch the Chris Chambers section all day long...

Re: What is 57,683 squared?

Wow.

That is amazing - off the charts.

I will also use the re-cap gag...

Re: Is The Nasdaq The New Dow?

Fred. If you want to do some fundamental analysis - have a look at our site (www.valuecruncher.com). It is a DCF tool with a pre-populated starting point. We are still pretty early in what we are doing. You should try it and create some valuations. Here is the link for the $GOOG page - http://www.valuecruncher.co....

Re: General Motors (GM) Runway: 350 Days

Where is your valuation of GM???

Re: Six Rules for Effective Forecasting

Great post.

I have seen Saffo's analysis previously.

"Strong opinions weekly held" is one of my current mantras.

I will definitely listen to the podcast...

Re: Recreational jet packs a $6 billion market?

I am there on the jet pack - long-term. Not sure about MAC as a short-term (3-5 years) investment.

I am not sure a NZ start-up is the entity to commercialize them. There are so many questions short-term - what training is required, where can I fly them, who will regulate my behavior, safety protocols, etc. I have also watched the clips - what I have seen isn't "The Rocketeer".

The Segway is really cool - but is still a toy at NZ$10K to buy. I am worried this is headed the same way - but without the same Dean Kamen hype. The Segway will (IMHO) lead to new personal transport developments - as will this type of development. But we are years away - and if there is a big market, likely to be dominated by big aeronautics firms.

Am I pleased a NZ company is doing this. But I am glad I am not an investor in funding it. There is value to be created in the jet pack market - but these guys probably are not the people to realize it. But I hope I am wrong about that. I would love MAC to succeed.
