Indeed, it's very confusing.

No two words make moviegoers cringe quite like "This January". If Paul Blart goes down in history as the movie that changed January releases...

I don't think Cloverfield changed January as a dumping ground. It was an anomaly. It clocked in at just over $80MM domestically. While impressive given its release date, it fell well short of the $100MM benchmark.
