I still crack up about the skinny white bitch controversy. I remember when Mimi read that story for the first time and mentioned how there was all this drama about calling someone a skinny bitch, and then she and I both said simultaneously, "I would LOVE to be called a skinny bitch!"

Honestly, though, overall I think ballet flats aren't really interesting enough to become a "what were we thinking?" Audrey Hepburn did them best and now Amy Winehouse continues to (literally) drag them through the dirt. I do think, however, they are a practical necessity, as you really shouldn't be wearing heels every day, and sneakers are generally not work appropriate (granted, most flats don't have adequate arch support, but that's another story).

That is fucking crazy. See what I miss when I spend my morning with my face buried in photo editing.

I was never a huge Moe fan...actually probably one of the few people who had relatively little opinion on her in general. But, yes, as someone working in the retail industry...the economy is going to suck. Half of your favorite things are going to close or be forced into bankruptcy.

I am actually a little shocked about the Gawker thing, seeing as they're disseminating free information and not, like, trying to sell people physical things (I'm not including advertising, obviously).

I completely agree. One of the judges (I think Michael Kors) made a very good point, too, and one that I absolutely agree with as a buyer. If you are starting out in the industry with a snotty attitude, very few people are going to want to work with you, even if you are somewhat talented. Sometimes newer designers think that they should adopt an attitude given the industry, but people on the business end of it don't want to deal with it.

Which is not to say that Kenley's attitude is inauthentic...I really do just think she is unsocialized to the point of being utterly obnoxious.

Sometimes you date guys who are essentially nice people but really are not the one to stick around with. It's better to cut the cord sooner rather than later, so you remember they're nice people instead of thinking that they're inappropriate dickweeds that you spent too much time on (having dated two super old school Catholics more or less in a row, I speak from experience).

I love them, too. I really never had any opinion on Lindsay until she embraced her inner gayelle and got her shit together...kudos to her for letting her relationship remain relatively private while never denying it.

FS: Oh, I know I got what I paid for...but they still managed to limbo under my already low expectations. For some reason I looked at the Indy online and thought they didn't do wedding announcements, but I have been functioning with one brain cell. Meh. News Press already charged our card.

SMC: I've got more funny stuff along the way, including a crazy mystery gift from Lithuanian relatives that turned out to be quite sweet (literally and figuratively). Thank you!

So, the story on these pieces (I believe) is that they are all pre-existing from Rami's spring collections, both ready-to-wear and eveningwear. Obviously we only do the ready-to-wear pieces, as the eveningwear is another price point entirely. The gold piece is sort of a longer sleeved version of our Nadine dress and belted.

We may get that piece, but Rami is actually doing an exclusive fall/holiday collection for our store (he was unable to produce a regular fall collection due to Project Runway time constraints, and was probably actually one of the few contestants who managed a spring collection). That is another blog post entirely, but I am waiting until we have samples to photograph to announce. Rest assured it will be fabulous...some tops, dresses, and a COAT!

I think the use of the tux picture makes it even more funny/improbable. I mean, I try to not look like a schlub for government issued identification, but I certainly don't consider it a black tie affair.

I actually know about the Faveo Freedom Bra and have been soooooo curious about it...Jezebel or Dlisted had made a semi-mocking post about it, but being someone who is always looking for a bra that defies gravity, I was very fascinated by it. I still don't understand how it actually keeps you lifted, though...

Seriously, this makes me feel so ancient. Thank god we have Gossip Girl to keep us young.

I would have liked Danica Patrick's outfit so much better if it just stuck with the dress, belt, and more simple accessories. I love me some gladiators, but hers in conjunction with everything else make her look fashion victim-y.

I think Olivia Wilde's dress would have made me look like a whale, but she can carry it off. I am on a mission to replicate Leighton Meester's look, though...not the best photo, but she looked AMAZING. Plus, she and Ed Westwick are my faves on GG.

It's funny, I'm not always such a draping freak...I can't stand tent-like draped pieces. My wedding dress is draped, though... :)
