Drew - I've been geeking out over Star Wars since long before geeking out was a thing. I even paid to see The Phantom Menace 3 times. Over the years I have dumped god knows how many thousands of $ into box office, comics, books, toys, random merch etc.

I saw TLJ only once and I won't be paying to see Solo at all. There are millions of me.

Did I say tens of thousands? Forgive my haste, the number is actually much much higher than that. Here's a few examples:

AT&T: $1,000 bonuses to 200,000 union employees.
BofA: $1,000 bonuses for 145,000 employees
Comcast: $1,000 bonuses for 100,000 employees
Southwest Airlines: $1,000 bonuses for 55,000 employees
US Bancorp: $1,000 bonuses for 60,000 employees
Walmart: Raising minimum wage to $11/hr, expanded maternity leave, $1,000 bonuses.
Waste Management $2,000 bonuses for 34,000 employees

Roughly 75 other US companies of varying size so far have made similar announcements. Of course it's only been a few weeks, so this will only get bigger, especially as US companies start reporting quarterly results and raising 2018 earnings guidance over the next few weeks.

You'll have to speak up in your reply, it's hard to hear you over the sound of all this economics trickling down.

Mr Meehan is yet another economic illiterate who has put himself on the record as opposing the tax bill that has already paid dividends to tens of thousands of people in the form of raises, bonuses, expanded family leave, etc (not to mention the repatriation of trillions in overseas cash and of course - lower taxes).

It will be hilarious to watch him try to explain this two years from now.

New Jersey's may-issue permit process creates second class citizens who's lives are deemed unworthy of protection. Govt employees such as politicians, police, or judges (and their friends) are easily able to obtain such permits while the rest of us are not. This is the exact opposite of the intent of the 2nd Amendment.

I look forward to passage of HR38 forcing the elitist ruling class in NJ to recognize that my civil rights don't end at my doorstep.

History has proven that tax cuts increase revenues. Since 1960, every single time the top marginal tax rate has been reduced, federal reveues increased the following year. Every time.

When tax cuts expire, they get extended. It's political suicide to do otherwise. Heck even Obama extended the Bush tax cuts. The expiration is included in both bills to get around the Byrd Rule. If just a handful of Democrats were willing to allow across the board tax cuts, this expiration would not be in the bill. However they are unwilling to do so.
