I was promoted in the double odds to Asset Protection Coordinator. I made less money, working more hours.

I've seen and heard of what you describe.... I built up a relationship with my associates. They told me everything, they were the reason I did so well and I NEVER forgot to mention that fact to my DLPS/MAPM and store manager.

I will tell you as Loss Prevention you saw a lot and was privy to quite a bit, but it wasn't until the APC that you saw a hell of a lot more and ironically, it was that position that finally pushed me over the edge to leave the company (they promoted me out of a job). The shit they said and did ... simply wrong.

Re: Last night’s CNBC Wal-Mart documentary a must-watch

Really? Then you have a case against them as well!

As far as the "bullshit"... you really can't see how you compare with what you are saying? Really? Man, WalMart is truly getting their money's worth.

YOU are on here ... if you see all that is going on here is complaining about WalMart, then you (being unhappy about it) should leave and let them have their say, it doesn't effect you one way or the other does it?

YOU are making it affect you by staying in here and posting. So why not "see through the bullshit" and simply leave....

I know.. I know.. if you do, the check stops. I understand, you have obligations.

Re: Last night’s CNBC Wal-Mart documentary a must-watch

Wow.. who pays you!? Most people WISH that their jobs paid more, but the reality is that you either accept what a job pays, or pass it up, as a company DECIDES what it will pay for labor at jobs with a high 'labor pool' to choose from, as long as it is above minimum wage."

The sad thing about this is that WalMart is a multibillion dollar a year company. You would think that at least they would pay a fair and decent wage that would enable their associates to get off public assistance. Right?

You would think that they could afford to treat their associates properly. Right?

You would think that they could quit with the excuses. They have to provide all evidence against you. If it is an edited version (ie: "choppy".. the time stamp will prove that) then that is all your lawyer needs to dismiss the case based on lack of evidence and possibly "tampering" (remember, you have to be found guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt" --- tampered with video does more than simply question reasonable doubt, it goes to show they have something to hide).

Then, turn around and sue the pants off that store.

Matter of fact, tell me what they accused you of and what evidence they have of it (honestly) and I'll tell you how to beat it... using walmart's policy's and procedures and the law... (remember, they will have to PROVE they treated ALL equally to show why they brought you to court with the charges they gave).

Then, regardless of guilt, you can sue them for slander and defecation of character (because, based on their policies and procedures, it shouldn't have resulted in a court case to begin with).

Re: Last night’s CNBC Wal-Mart documentary a must-watch

You need to talk to the EEOC and get a letter for the right to sue from them, it'll go a long way in court. Bet they don't come close to Wally. Wally is a pitfall. They don't pay enough for folks to care.

As for the other thing you talk about..... Actually, in most states, as long as ONE party knows it's being recorded, it's legal (as far as wiretapping a phone line). But, I digress, how do you think hidden camera evidence is shown in drug busts? How do you think hidden camera evidence gets a pedophile locked up? How do you think ... ah never mind, you've shown you don't think anything other than what WalMart tells you to think.

Re: The Waltons: Still Super Rich!!!

Ok people ... c'mon THAT was funny! I know retail, I started in 1992. I logged close to 20 years as Loss Prevention and then promoted to Asset Protection Coordinator under that new program they rolled out. I actually made less in that "management" position go figure.

I know retail, at least when it comes to Wally World. I've been in the backroom discussions. I've seen the worst of folks and the best of folks. I've been in on talks. I've heard it all... and funny enough, I took notes.

Wal Mart is NOT what you think it is and if you are doing what you are now doing in here, it doesn't pay enough. You'll see one day, when YOU get out from under them... it takes a lot to wash the stench off.

Re: The Waltons: Still Super Rich!!!

Al that sad fact is that you are accepting a paycheck for the crap you spew on here. Wally could use that money to pay an underpaid associate... but no. They opt for this.

No matter what I think of Gates (his treatment of his buddy Jobs and the history they share) he still has a steady supply of cash streamed into charities. I give him credit for that. He has even made it public that the vast majority of his fortune will go to charity upon his death. Now, don't get me wrong, whatever guided Mr. Sam to do what he did, he did for family (you have to appreciate that) and secondly for concern of his workers. But .. upon HIS death, it changed - it changed by taking the associates out of the equation.

The associates no longer matter at Walmart. They are easily replaced and this economy is a boon to them -- it makes the associates they have take even more crap for little pay because they all know there are people banging on the door for a job.

Have you ever worked at WalMart?

Re: The Waltons: Still Super Rich!!!

I disagree. Walmart has stock holders to think about and thus, the associate will pay the ultimate price.

Not only that but Walmart is notorious for "cut back" firings or "cut hours" to make them quit ... only to do a "new hire" within a few weeks or so. So why not rehire the ones you let go or forced to quit (already trained, already completed CBL training)... they won't because that is their way of getting rid of folks they don't like and/or who are making too much for Walmart standards.

Remember - the ONLY cost WalMart endures that WalMart can do something about is EMPLOYEE WAGES. Cutting that improves the profit margin and makes the shareholders happy.

-me

Re: Blog: Ohio’s $68.5 Million “Walmart Tax” | Wal-Mart Watch | Fighting for Wal-Mart Workers | Employee Free Choice Act

Hmm ... perhaps you showed your "true" age with the comment "bitch about".
