1. Freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequences.
2. Nothing was "taken out of context." If we all read one tweet where she was quoting someone else saying something racist and we blamed it on her, that would be taking her words out of context. The context here is Viola Davis' speech and Grahn's tweets in reaction to it. Many, many people saw all of Grahn's tweets as she posted them and before she deleted them. No context was lost. No words were taken from a larger context and misinterpreted. She said what she said and she was wrong.
3. I personally don't care whether she loses her job over it. Many have lost jobs for far lesser offenses. See #1.

What on earth do people even mean by "taken out of context"? The context was the speech and Grahn's tweets. What context was lost? None. I saw the whole thing, before she deleted the tweets. She was wrong. That doesn't necessarily mean she should lose her job, but nothing was "taken out of context." Words mean things.

It's like the words "taken out of context" are some magical salve to remove all wrongdoing from the speaker, regardless of what they actually said. smh.

Abacaxi67: I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking after my friend (and not moving her, as she did indeed have a serious neck injury).

She is still in the hospital, but is recovering. I'll pass on the well-wishes from this page.

I agree, if dems stop appearing on Fox News, the people who do watch and believe it will only be worse off. A boycott is the way to go. They need to stop calling it "news" and call it "news commentary" or perhaps "news skewed to fit our views and fed to you with a spoon."
