It's refreshing to hear a school be honest about the fact that students will likely change their initial plans while on the path to get their MBA. Yet schools consistently do like to know that applicants have a focused vision and plan as to why they need to get their MBA and why their particular school makes sense for the plan. Applicants should expect to have this nailed down in their application, even if it will likely change down the road!</div>
<div> </div>

<div id="wmQuoteWrapper">-------- Original Message --------
Subject: [mbapodcaster] Re: Getting Into MIT Sloan - MIT Sloan MBA
From: "Disqus" <>
Date: Tue, December 14, 2010 2:39 pm
To: leila@mbapodcaster.com

======

MBA Aspirant <email@aol.com> (unregistered) wrote:

I've seen this video, basically MIT is different as opposed to Stanford. At Stanford (In their video) the lady mentioned students need to know what they are going to do before you get there, and that Stanford is not the place for them to find themselves like in undergrad. However, at MIT the Director says that people don't know what they want to do when they are there, and find what they are going to do while at MIT.

I prefer the 2nd concept, students go to business school to help realize their goals, as well as find their direction.

IP address: 207.188.252.149
Link to comment: http://disq.us/utrgz

-----
Options: You can moderate through email. Admission consultants now have their own association: The Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants (AIGAC) which launched a couple years ago. They're 'committed to upholding the highest ethical practices in graduate admissions advisory services'. All the consultants you mention above are members except for Cambridge Essay Service.

We interviewed 4 of the leading admission consultants, who are all on your chart above, to find out what value they bring to different types of applicants. One good thing to come from the economic crisis is business schools re-evaluating their curricula and shaking up the status quo.
