Thanks so much for reminding me of those things Russ, and for the gentle pointer that once again, I have spent a lot of time in my life putting emphasis on the things that go not the way I want them to, more than the things that go right! I didn't mention for example, that during the gig where I sat in for a few songs (and got tips! $11!), I had the difficult task of playing right after the band who brought the bulk of the audience finished their set, and their friends understandably wanted to congratulate them after their performance. I was so proud of myself for making a point of looking out into the room and finding the few people who were paying attention and connecting with them.

I've been proud at my little teeny bits of patter and jokes before or between songs. I'm pretty sure I haven't put down my songs or my performance while in front of the mic, though depending on my shyness/energy levels I have for sure hidden a bit after being on stage. I HAVE had people tell me nice things and simply received it and said thank you, and I've even had someone request one of my songs that he'd heard on Friday night, that I play it on both Saturday and Sunday at other open mics where we were both attending.

And I know I don't need to compare myself to anyone else, but I DID get someone saying he heard a Nanci Griffith influence, which was really gratifying, and potentially useful in a press kit someday. :)

I had that book! Pretty sure I wrote down that I wanted to be a mom and a sailor! Neither of those has happened yet, though I think becoming a mom is more likely! Weren't there also some options to circle? I can't remember which of those I chose...

Are the pieces you are including on 'Drivin!' the same recordings or new ones? If they are new recordings, I think you could release all of 'Topaz' as a digital album. The songs would all be in one place like old times, and people could purchase tracks as singles as well!

Kristi Martel has a song called 'Give' that she records for every album she puts out, and records it in a different way each time. Pretty neat. :)

Oooh, The Dimes! So funny, I've heard a lot about them but hadn't actually checked out their music yet! They sound really good. I know one of the guys - Ehren Ebbage. He has his own solo album as well - which was also featured in the fun indie webseries comedy Wage Slaves.

Amen sista! I like that term extra emotional, I can totally relate. And isn't so funny how much time we spend running away from our emotions (wow, in your case today maybe literally?!) when sometimes all it takes is to turn and face them and they will play out in a few minutes. Duh, you just wrote that, but what I'm saying is, I've been there too. Glad to know I'm not the only one.
