I broke my first ever Nalgene back in 2002. I was working at a scout camp and decided that I wanted to prove that they could break. Essentially I filled it full of water and threw it into the air over and over again, letting it smash into the ground. The top of the cap (that holds the strap to the cap) broke off first, but eventually the bottle landed right on the bottom corner of the bottle and it split after several dozen tosses. I still have it, a monument to the achievement. They never were indestructible, just extremely durable. The new ones still are. Hit them right, and they will break, but that doesn't change the fact that they still incredibly strong. The referenced comment mentions freezing the bottle. This has always been a good way to break the old Nalgenes. and I know of several people who have broken the old bottles under similar circumstances.

If there is a durability change from old to new it is insignificant, and the warranty more than makes up for it.

You mean that Paul Harris with the best magic set released in the last ten years is on the chopping block while Michael Hankins, with a freaking terribly limited COLOR CHANGE is not in the bottom five? Really? I know this is no fault of the iTricks.com staff, but this is sick. I am more than bothered by this fact.

If you want to make sure that a bogus trick doesn't win, you better make sure you vote for something real. I know what I am voting for. I might have a little loyalty to D&D, but that won't stop me from voting for the CLEAR winner here.

This place might be overrun with young fanboys, but that doesn't mean that serious people have no influence in keeping a color change from becoming "Trick of the Year."

I agree Bizzaro. I don't understand why this happens. I'm not a loyal, I'm not a hater. I just know that his material is NOT up to par for an award like this. He is not a magician so much as he is an actor, playing in the world of special effects, then trying to make it all seem legit. He is merely riding on his wave of popularity gained SPECIFICALLY from the culture he appeals to. The IMS has apparently degraded to the point where they follow the desires of a louder and more obnoxious group of people instead of actually awarding someone who actually benefits, in a real way, the magical community.
