One is 1000 minutes, 1000 tests/MMS and 30MB of data and free 411 calls for $30 per month and the other is unlimited minutes, unlimited texts/MMS and unlimited data for $45 per month. There are 8 phones to choose from which range from the cheap to the Samsung Finesse touchscreen which is a very nice phone. So you can have the benefits on being on a great network while getting the cheapest calling rates.

Re: AT&T 4G Plans Include Trials This Year, Deployments In 2011

I prefer Verizon because they always have the best network and they are always improving their network ahead of everyone else. My phone is actually a Straight Talk phone which runs on Verizons network nationwide but it's cheaper than Verizon, I only pay $45 per month for unlimited talk, texts and data. At those prices, AT&T can keep Apple and Apple deserves what they get.

Re: FCC to Google: A $350 “Equipment Recovery Fee”? I will never sign a contract again unless it's to buy a house, I am trying to buy everything with cash and my finances are in much better shape now. I'm even saving on some things like my Straight Talk phone with unlimited everything for $45 per month on Verizon's network nationwide. I am saving around $50 per month which I can put to a holiday fund where previously I would spend that and more on a cell contract that didn't give me anything more than I have now, in fact I got less minutes and less signal.

Re: Verizon Changing Rate Plans, 3G Smartphones Require Data Plan

I don't need to pay it because I have a Straight Talk phone which is an MVNO of Verizon nationwide so I get the network coverage that I want without paying the extra dollars. They have cool phones as well, they range from $30 to $329 for the touchscreen Finesse and include qwerty phones and flip phones. Straight Talk is on Verizon's network nationwide so their is no need to take out a Verizon contract.

Re: Barack Obama’s Waste of Your Money

The Safelink cell phone has been established as having nothing to do with Obama, was started during the Bush administration but goes a decade back with free landlines (which are more expensive to give than cell phones). That said, this program is to help people find jobs and improve income as well as giving them the ability to call 911 in an emergency. It has as much to do with drug deals as to say that everyone that goes to a night club takes drugs! There is always a bad element in society but the focus is on helping the people who really need help, not aiding criminals. I get the best service/coverage at the cheapest rate. Straight Talk is prepaid and I have unlimited talk, texts and data for only $45 per month which I would pay double for on a contract. I guess AT&T will be loosing a lot of clients now that they have been proven to be the worst and there are cheaper options out there anyway.

Re: Early Black Friday Walmart BlackBerry $100 Gift Card Deal Is Much Better Online

I prefer prepaid phones so the $100 gift card is just not enough to tempt me. I bought the Straight Talk phone from Walmart and it's really great, I'm not tied into a contract and the unlimited everything only costs $45/month, on contract that would be over $80/month. I get great reception wherever I go b/c it's on Verizon's network nationwide.

Re: What's Wrong With Your Phone's Wireless Network? | The Atlantic Wire

They all have their faults as with anything, I guess you just have to decide what's more important to you. It runs on Verizon's network nationwide so I always get signal. I realize that it can't be used with a notebook or laptop but at least I have internet access in my pocket whenever I need it.

Re: Subscriber slowdown marks Q3 for small carriers

Of all the prepaid offers out there I still think that Straight Talk is the best; it's cheaper than the others and with Verizon's network for coverage I couldn't wish for better. I don't have to worry about roaming or long distance because it's nationwide.

Re: Smartphones key to Verizon Wireless recovery

I don't think that smartphones are all that great, who has the time to play with all those features anyway. I need a phone to make calls, texts and at most check my mail online which is why I went and bought the Straight Talk unlimited plan at Wal-Mart and it's really good value, I'd go so far as to say it's the best value on the market at the moment. The fact the it runs on Verizon's network and for so little per month ($45) makes Straight Talk more desirable than the other unlimited offers. The network has better nationwide coverage than any other so roaming and long distance are never a problem and included in the price. So unless you really can't live without your 'toy' phone then I'd say Straight Talk is the way to go.

Re: Smartphones key to Verizon Wireless recovery

I don't think smartphones are that important, call me oldfashioned but phone are for making calls. I have recently given in to texts as a good way of quick communication and I suppose it's nice to be able to check your e-mails while on the move but that's all about communication which is what phones are for, what else could you possibly need your phone to do? I think the new Straight Talk plan on Verizon's network is great and it was a good move on their part; it's good value for money, offers everything you need in a cell phone and has great coverage.

Re: Analyst downgrade sends Leap Wireless stock down - SignOnSanDiego.com

I bought the new Straight Talk cell phone plan from Wal-Mart; I get unlimited talk, texts and data for $45/month. I get better service too because Straight Talk is on Verizon's network which is nationwide.

Re: Prepaid Cell Plans May Be Worth Change - San Antonio News Story - KSAT San Antonio

I am very happy now that I canceled my contract and bought a prepaid Straight Talk phone with unlimited talk, text and 30mb of data for $45/month. I gave up my land line three years ago and now I only have a cell phone so it is important for me to receive texts as I worry about storms and other important events.I guess the problem would be in getting everyone's phone numbers. I think that everyone should sign up and if they don't have a cell phone they can get a simple Tracfone for $10 which will serve them for private emergency's as well.

Re: Fire departments dropping pagers in favor of emergency dispatch solution

That's great, pagers are so outdated and can't give a full message where cell phones can. With the very cheap cell phones on offer today it is as expensive to buy a pager as a Tracfone. There is a great offer on at the moment for a Motorola W376 that comes with DMFL and a camera, FM radio, web access and blue tooth. It is on promotion for less than $30 which means that it only costs something like $6 per phone considering what the DMFL costs. If the phone should get damaged while firefighting it wouldn't be too expensive to replace.

Re: Solution may be near for prepaid wireless 911 funding dilemma

I wouldn't mind paying extra for a 911 tax, perhaps the cell phone providers could add the fee on and pay it over. My Tracfone is so cheap I doubt it would make very much difference. Even if you only use the plan for one week it's still outrageously expensive. My Tracfone gives me long distance and international calls for the same price as a local call and I don't pay more than $20 per month and that's when I'm making tons of calls. I call my daughter in the UK nearly every day and at least every second day and I don't pay any extra. Tracfone also doesn't charge for roaming or daily fees and texts are only 5 cents each which make them the cheapest prepaid for my needs.
